Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Thoughts

+ All the found family feels. The Guardians but also with Yondu and Kraglin. So many great little and big moments between various different characters showing how much they really care about each other.
+ Gamora/Nebula were wonderful. I loved them finally talking (and shooting and fighting) through their childhood trauma and actually communicating with each other. I loved Nebula saving Gamora. I loved them working as a team. I loved their goodbye and hug.
+ Rocket and Yondu's bonding was unexpected and lovely.
+ Yondu/Peter were good though I wish they'd had more time interacting. I really liked the conclusion that, while Ego was Peter's father, Yondu was his dad. I loved Yondu staying to save Peter and doing so knowing he'd be giving his life and accepting that. His death was so sad and so well done. Peter's realisation and grief and that last moment of Yondu cupping Peter's face and gently patting his cheek in comfort with his last breath was perfect.
+ The opening fight was fun. Adored all the baby Groot parts – Gamora telling him to get to safety and then saying hi when he waves, Groot/Drax’s no moving game, Rocket flying in to make him spit out the bug, how Groot was in his own little music world. I love how everyone is trying to be the best parents they can throughout the entire movie.
+ I loved Gamora saving Drax when the ship crashed.
+ Groot munching as they crash and Peter telling him to put his seat belt on was such a nice little moment.
+ Mantis asking to ‘pet your puppy’, Rocket snapping at her, her face (aww), and then her laughing with Drax was a great little moment.
+ Aww, Gamora touching Groot’s face and reassuring him they’ll be back was so sweet.
+ I love all the different names Rocket is called – raccoon, trash panda, puppy, fox, rat.
+ This exchange was great:
"You’re like an old woman." - Peter
"Because I’m wise?" - Drax
+ "The crabby puppy is so cute, he makes me want to die." - Mantis ♥ Mantis is adorable. I love her.
+ I love that when Drax was sinking into the ground he raised Mantis above his head to try and save her.
+ Groot sitting and listening to music with Peter at the end was really nice.
+ I love how throughout the movie you have Groot getting mad at Drax at various times and then at the end when he's sleepy it's Drax he wants to cuddle with.
