5x20 'Nicholas T. Moore [No. 110]'

Meh.

+ I'm actually really annoyed with how Liz was portrayed. In the last episode she finally took down the man who murdered Tom, who cost her 10 months of her life, who is nominally the reason she is missing even more of her daughter's life and she even got to kill him with her own hands. That deserves - something. All that rage and grief and yet nothing. She's acting like this is any other day, as if his death had no emotional repercussions for her, and honestly that's just bad writing. We should have got to see Liz dealing with it. Maybe have her realise that there is no satisfaction, no relief, and that it wasn't enough, which could then lead into her continued obsession with the bag and her displacing all her mixed emotions onto uncovering the secret.

+ Yeahhhh... all of Red's interest with Lilly is about the bag, he doesn't ask her about her life, he agrees easily that he won't contact her again and seems very genuine about it. I don't buy for a second she's his daughter.

+ That's too bad about Naomi dying, I liked her. I find it curious that she was apparently so terrified of Red that she purposefully abandoned her daughter because when they interacted in season 2 I didn't get that impression at all. I wonder if she really was killed by one of Red's enemies and if so how they found her considering Red hid her away. Also why wouldn't he have been keeping track of her? Actually how the hell did Naomi's husband find Lilly to tell her if Naomi didn't even know where she was? WTH? None of this makes sense.

5x21 'Lawrence Dane Devlin [No. 26]'

These last two episodes have felt mostly like filler which is a odd choice considering they're the last two before the finale. Instead of upping the stakes and making me more excited they're mostly just there. I hope the finale isn't as disappointing.

+ "She did not pass, she killed herself. So I could get the dufflebag. It was her dying wish. Feel free to honour it." - Liz. LOL. I don't know why but I found this hilarious.

+ I also found Red's 'ugh!' when Harold backed Liz going with him to see Julius super amusing.

+ "You disappoint me. And yet somehow, at the same time, you impress me. You persevere." His expression when she said 'it runs in the family' made me go hmmm.

+ Why would Red dangle the idea of Liz flying back with him under a truce and then immediately follow that up with 'nope'? Did he decide against it because she didn't say an unqualified yes to the idea? I was looking forward to seeing a moment of peace between them. They have had some nice scenes in this last bunch of episodes but they've been few and I really miss the two of them working together and them being partners. However the finale goes what I want most for next season is for them to get back to that place in their relationship.

+ I've noticed that lately Red has been calling her "Elizabeth" instead of Liz or Lizzie (when was the last time we heard that??) which is also interesting. I need to do a re-watch to see when it changed. In the past, the impression I remember I had, was that he called her Elizabeth when he was being serious. The change has to indicate something - that he's started taking her seriously as an adversary?

+ Poor Samar. She did everything she could, was awesome and smart and literally nothing went her way. It was one failure after another mostly at no fault on her part. I did think she could have tried for the gun after she escaped the van, or that she should have been able to take him after stabbing him with the stick but overall I thought she did well. I honestly thought there was a chance she was going to die but since she lived long enough to be found by Aram I'm pretty sure she's going to survive the season.
