Agents of Shield 5x21 & 5x22 Thoughts

iaria'The Force of Gravity' and 'The End'
Overall I found this season a huge letdown after season 4. It started strong, there were definitely parts I liked but as a whole I'm left feeling meh. The finale however was fairly enjoyable.
+ The Coulson/Daisy goodbye got to me. I found it beautiful and I'm so happy they told each other "I love you".
+ Daisy had several moments I liked. In particular I loved her escaping the mind trap in 5x21 and then in 5x22 her running and knocking Talbot down and then taking him out was great. I like how confident in herself she is now.
+ Daisy teasing Coulson about kissing May and her glee over it was great.
+ Fitz's death really shocked me. I'd actually completely forgotten about the loose thread of Fitz taking the long way into the future. I'm glad he did survive but the younger Fitz has missed so much! He missed reuniting and marrying Jemma, he isn't the one who held Daisy down and removed the chip against her will, he won't share any of the terrifying experiences everyone else did this season. Poor Fitz. Poor Jemma. Honestly of everything this is what's making me most interested in next season. I'm curious about how this will affect his relationships.
+ I liked that it was Mack with Fitz when he died. Holding his hand, calling him Turbo... it reminded me of their friendship in season 2 and how I've always been a little sad that their relationship was given so much less screen time/development afterwards.
+ I agreed with everyone that Daisy wasn't the right person to lead SHIELD and I really liked that she was the one to bring it up and resign because she knew it. That said I'm not sure Mack is the best person either. I don't think he's... flexible enough as a person to lead SHIELD. But at the same time, amongst the current main group I don't think there is anyone who would be better.
+ There is no way Coulson is going to die. I did like him and May going to Tahiti together for the end.
+ I'm a little disappointed that the episode didn't end with a bunch of people turning into dust.
