Kyou Kara Maou - Episodes 82 - 84

iaria3x04/Episode 82
- It was great to see Yuuri, Greta and Wolfram as a family. We’ve seen Greta with one of her dads or the other but it’s fairly rare that we see her with both of them. I love that she has both of them completely wrapped around her fingers because of course she does. I’m very amused at everyone referring to them as her dads and the fact that Yuuri doesn’t really react. I especially love Yuuri’s complete non-reaction to Wolfram declaring “Those Bearbees are the incarnation of our love.” and that Greta and Yuuram were like siblings. That just amused me and he does it throughout the episode.
+ This episode is clearly going to be referred to as the gremlin episode.
+ Yuuri had complete control over becoming Maou and returning to normal which is interesting.
+ The whole ‘plan’ with the path of fire was such a drama queen move that I bet Günter put it together.
+ I’m not sure if we were supposed to believe that Yuuri was going around incognito at the market considering all he did was change his clothes – at this point wouldn’t the towns people know not only what Yuuri looks like but who Wolfram/Conrad etc are?
+ My favourite exchange (and which made me laugh and laugh):
Wolfram: Greta must have been lonely as an only child. As soon as we’re officially married, we should make our family bigger, don’t you think?
Yuuri: (calmly) No. Seriously, no.
3x05/Episode 83
+ This season does seem to have a different feel from the previous seasons. One, Yuuri himself has grown, he’s not as awkward and he doesn’t freak out as much. Two, there seems to be a lot less Conrad/Yuuri considering the previous seasons often seemed to be all about emphasising Conrad’s love of Yuuri and their bond. Three, the Wolfram/Yuuri relationship seems quite – settled. Yuuri handles Wolfram in a far more calm manner and Wolfram also seems a lot quieter. All together and possible with other things I don’t see and it’s just different.
+ This episode gave us two Yuuri/Wolfram moments – when Wolfram talked about their wedding (“Then it’s our turn, right?”) and Yuuri had no reaction (literally no reaction which seems more like poor animating than anything) and then later when Wolfram decides they’ll definitely have a wedding cake at their wedding and Yuuri’s reaction is to laugh nervously before changing the subject again (“...leaving that aside.”). I’m really finding Yuuri’s reactions to Wolfram this season pretty fascinating.
+ I loved this line of Gwendal’s “Each country has its own culture and history. Remember that, and don’t let the things you’re thinking fall right out of your mouth.” that he says to Yuuri, quietly, and just really came off as the advisor he is. Plus it’s really excellent advice.
3x06/Episode 84
+ I loved the beginning of this episode. The whole getting ready for bed scene made me happy. Wolfram and Greta already in their nightgowns sitting on the bed and chatting while Yuuri gets changed made me smile.
+ Conrad being there to get Yuuri’s clothes (and then giving them to Sangria (?) who’s waiting outside) was kind of weird – do they do that every night?
+ Also once again we have Greta sleeping with her dads which I hope isn’t every night though it does work well to make sure that there’s no funny business happening between the two of them.
+ I love Wolfram telling Yuuri to just get in bed and Yuuri doing it. Also Wolfram getting up early to go running with Yuuri.
+ I loved all the Shinou/Murata scenes, Shinou’s line to Yuuri “Oh, that’s right. There are strong bonds between you two as well.” re. Murata, and Murata’s letter to Yuuri having a heart sealing it were all great.
+ Cheri thinking Yuuri and Wolfram were eloping and being totally and enthusiastically supportive of it was great.
+ I was really happy to see Adelbert again. I was surprised by how much I had missed him.
