I loved it. I loved it from the first episode to the last and at no time did it drag for me. It is one of my favourite series yet, definitely in my top five. I just wish it wasn’t over. Right now I feel like I could watch another 16 episodes about these characters. I really want a sequel about Hye Ri and In Woo solving crimes. They work so well together and I can already imagine the bickering, and tracking down leads, and teasing each other. Maybe there could be a subplot where they conspire to set Jeni up with someone.

One Year Time Jump

Pretty much everything after this time jump was awesome and funny and wonderful. I spent so much time laughing and squeeing and just really happy. I loved it.

Hye Ri/In Woo

• Hye Ri stalking In Woo was pretty much the best thing ever omg. A++ ♥♥♥

- The flowers made me wonder, Hye Ri going into his office and laughing on her phone (and stopping just where he could see her) made me consider it but then she appeared surprised to catch a glimpse of him and I figured it was a coincidence. But then she showed up at the running track and it was fabulous.

- I loved the nervous quick talking. I loved her straight-forward “I want you to be a part of my life again.”. I loved her quoting back lines that he’d said to her in the beginning especially the friend speech he gave her: “If you need a friend, please call me.” Hee. Hye Ri is awesome.

- Hye Ri sneaking into his apartment and cleaning up for him made me laugh. It made me wonder if she was planning on living with him secretly. It got especially funny when he got home, noticed the strangeness (and fully stocked bathroom) and then immediately searched the kitchen cabinets. Ahahaha.

- Then there’s the alarm clock, oh god, the alarm clock. “Seo In Woo, you have to go see Ma Hye Ri!” LMAO. ♥ That was perfect. Everything she set up that morning was perfect – the message, the fact that she (so quickly!) managed to move into his old apartment and her standing on the balcony laughing on the phone (I’m choosing to believe she was talking to Jeni), to her lowering the bucket on a fishing pole and using his Wonder Woman coupon to set up a date despite his disagreement. Oh, I love their bickering. Oh, also her calling him on having it in his wallet instead of throwing it out like he said.

“You are always living inside In Woo’s heart.” – Jeni. I love that Jeni visited Hye Ri six months previously because she was concerned about In Woo. Because that’s what Jeni does – she tries to help him. I adore the idea of Jeni as Hye Ri’s inside mole into In Woo’s life. I love them teaming up so much. The idea just filled me with glee – them exchanging phone calls as they work together on ‘Operation: Get In Woo Back With Hye Ri’ and inadvertently getting to know and like each other. Her first loyalty is always going to be to In Woo, of course, but I love the idea of the two of them ganging up on his occasionally.

• In Woo moved into her old apartment? LOL. In Woo you are ridiculous. Considering how much it looks exactly the same, as if she never moved, I am choosing to believe that he actively changed things from the previous owners just because it’s funnier that way. At the same time I also found it both sad and sweet. He wanted to be near her any way he could!

• Hye Ri trying to give a (slightly) injured In Woo a piggyback home was so funny. I loved him putting his arm around her shoulder on their walk back, and her holding his hand and their smiles! It was lovely. It did look a little weird and awkward that she had her other arm held up against his side instead of around his waist.

“It was unbearable.” – In Woo. I love that. That’s how I want my OTPs – so in love it’s painful to be apart.

• The final scene was wonderful and perfect. It felt so appropriate for them to be taking pictures together. I loved the teasing, her copying his previous words again, and the kiss to the forehead. How are they so freaking adorable?! I love how... free and happy and in love they were. It was the perfect end.

“In your head you just said “you lost” didn’t you?” – In Woo. Heeeee. ♥

Other

• Hye Ri wearing a suit while working was a little surprising to see and maybe even a little weird. But because she wears her normal clothes, and shoes, to work, changes there and then changes back at the end of work it doesn’t feel like too much of a change. She’s just learned professionalism and that is a good thing.

“How dare a girl...?” lol he is so dead and I am going to enjoy it. Especially when he tries to dismiss her further by saying she’s ‘nagging’ him.

• I loved seeing how Ae Ja and Sang Tae worked out. I wouldn’t have expected them to be running a bakery together but I guess it makes some sense. I love their interactions – Ae Ja’s confidence, the fact that she is clearly in charge and good at what she does, while Sang Tae is acting as her helper. There’s this little moment that made me laugh: he’s smiling at her dealing with the customers (!) and mutters “She’s such a great liar, our Park Ae Ja” (hee) and she gives him this ‘why aren’t you working’ stare which he returns with this pout and floppy wrist all ‘I hurt ow’ (lol). And then he complains about only being allowed to knead dough and how he wants to make bread. I found it adorable. Also I love that Ae Ja and Hye Ri are still conspiring behind his back (re: romance).

• It was nice to see Yoo Na again, one last time. And another way Hye Ri has grown – moderation in her shopping habits.

“You don’t cry about it anymore.” – Yoo Na. That make me so sad. Poor Hye Ri.

• I’m pleased that Jeni is planning to return to Korea as well. It’s a bit weird considering how much she appeared to miss her home in America and her desire to return but apparently were In Woo goes so too does she.

• I like that Jung Sun and Se Joon got their happy ending as well and them planning their wedding. It was sweet. Except – why is she planning their wedding if he apparently never gave her a ring or asked her? Also I do wish we’d gotten something to indicate that they were still friends with Hye Ri though.

“I did say I was sorry but I didn’t say I was wrong. I did wrong.” – Sang Tae. I loved this moment as well. I like him admitting this to In Woo. I liked him giving In Woo two muffins, that he made, and with them his permission to be with Hye Ri. I loved how In Woo immediately ran out. On one hand I can’t believe that In Woo was going to keep to his promise even knowing that Hye Ri wanted to be with him but on the other it makes sense he would keep it considering how important promises are to him. Still – would he really have let Hye Ri stay out there all night?

The Rest

• The entire situation with Sang Tae was wrapped up much quicker than I was expecting, especially after all the (excellent) build up, but I’m okay with that. I am very pleased that he a) didn’t go to jail and b) still got punished when his company went bankrupt. That along with his guilt and sincere regret was enough for me. Of course considering his life afterwards I feel like everything worked out well for him.

• I was pretty surprised that Jeni told In Woo the truth about what she did (sending the evidence) but I really loved that she did. They’ve always seemed to have a very honest relationship and I’m glad that’s true. I loved also that she apologised to him for going behind his back.

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” – Sang Tae to In Woo. The elevator scene was a really well done. I loved Sang Tae tearfully apologising to In Woo. I’m so glad that In Woo got to hear that.

• I thought it was a little weird that none of the other prosecutors said anything about In Woo being Sang Tae’s lawyer or even anything about In Woo and the truth about him at all. We know what big gossips they are. I would have been nice to have seen a short scene between them all, perhaps at lunch, talking about the situation.

“At least I could protect these.” – Ae Ja. omg she protected Hye Ri’s beloved shoes? I love her.

• All the angry ajummas running into the house and taking things it was just so ridiculous. I’ve seen it in other dramas I’m sure but I think it bothers me more here because it’s a show centred in many ways around law and lawyers and prosecutors and all I could think was ‘how is that even legal?’ and about how they could be prosecuted for it. But it did give us that amazing Ae Ja moment so whatever. Still – wouldn’t most of Hye Ri’s things be at her apartment?

• I loved Jeni’s expression when In Woo father was found not guilty. She was so happy, so pleased for him. I love that in the end they were just platonic best friends – that she loved him enough to push him and always be there for him – and that she wasn’t secretly in love with him. I ♥ close platonic female/male friendships. I really wish that we could have seen more of them.

• I liked that Hye Ri and Ae Ja were in the courtroom too.

“These days Prosecutor Ma is even less talkative than Prosecutor Yoon.” – Min Suk. Okay I have figured out Min Suk’s problem – he has no brain to mouth filter and just says whatever he’s think. Oi.

• It suddenly occurs to me that we haven’t really gotten much Hye Ri/Se Joon interactions in these last few episodes and in this one I don’t think they exchange even a line of dialogue. Huh. That seems weird.

• I loved Hye Ri’s pink dress during her goodbye with In Woo. Her sense of style has definitely gotten better as seen in comparing it to the dress she was wearing in the flashback to the first time they held hands.

- I loved how they just stood there, staring at each other and holding hands, neither wanting to let go.

• I was really expecting Hye Ri to show up at the airport and for us to get a replay/inversion of when In Woo stopped her from leaving. Her standing outside, just as she had been in the dream, waiting for him to appear was so sad.
