Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Jan. 15th, 2019 08:56 pmThat was genuinely great. It was a really fun movie.
+ I love that the Jumanji board game updated itself into being a video game in order to keep getting people to play it. That was a great way to update the movie.
+ Jack Black was the surprising stand-out by absolutely nailing sixteen year old girl. I loved everything about him.
+ I really liked the Rock too. He had a couple lines that his really made me laugh ("I don't want tooo!", lol). I loved his smoulder.
+ I liked the Bethany/Martha relationship a lot. Their talk where Bethany confronts Martha about judging her and their following sincere discussion about it was really great.
+ Martha kicking ass was great but how exactly is what she was doing 'dance fighting'? It was basically just fighting while music played, and I was expecting something a little more.
+ I love that when Bethany gave Alex mouth-to-mouth it wasn't made into a joke about 'ew, two guys lips touching' that I was half expecting.
+ I liked Alex's whole storyline and the idea he'd been unknowingly in the game for 20 years, unable to complete it without all the playable characters. I liked the little Alex and Bethany storyline and how her saving his life lead to him naming his daughter after her.
+ I liked the little Alan Perrish mention.
