1x09 ‘Pretty Dead Liars’

• I think one of my favourite things about this show is when people smack down Darren because every time it happens it makes me so happy. I loved Veronica smacking him down.

• I also loved the Veronica/Spencer talk which served to humanise Veronica a lot more. We haven’t gotten a lot of her before but I have liked her because of her response to the whole Wren thing (where she didn’t take sides) but she became one of my favourite parents this episode. I feel so sorry for her that she didn’t feel like she could tell her family she had cancer. Oh, also, I love that she’s a lawyer. That could come in useful later.

• I’m now sold on Spencer/Alex. They are very cute and he really is sweet. I’m still curious to know what happened to Wren though. Does Spencer even think of him?

• I loved Aria comforting Emily over Alison and I’m glad that all the girls know the truth now. I think it’s actually going to prove to be a huge step for Emily to actually get to say ‘I loved her more than a friend’ and get acceptance from her friends. I hope we get to see them all talk about it more in depth in the next episode. I also liked the girls covering for Emily but I wish she’d been more open with them.

• Emily did seem to get hit by the stupid bat this episode – why did she bring the statues to school with her? Why did she wear those shoes and if she had to wear them why the hell didn’t she clean them better? Why did she drop her bag in the library when she knew there was incriminating evidence in it and that there was someone else in there? Sigh.

• Hanna and Lucas continue to be cute and I continue to love that, at least on Hanna’s side, they’re just friends with no romantic tension. “You don’t need to thank me. You’re my friend. Geek.” Aw.

• I was surprised when the camera panned down to show the mud on Lucas’s shoes. I thought his ‘Hannah’ was going to be followed by a quiet ‘I love you’, but I wasn’t shocked because he certainly has reason to hate Alison. I don’t however buy that he killed her.

• I’m glad Aria’s going to date Noel for awhile but really only as long as she tries and doesn’t just spend the whole time mooning over Ezra. Mostly I’m pleased because Aria and Ezra are so bad at this whole ‘secret’ part of the relationship and I’m always afraid they’re going to get caught (though I’m sure ‘A’ has more than enough blackmail stuff saved already).

1x10 ‘Keep Your Friends Close’

• That was a very good cliff-hanger. I don’t think Hanna’s going to die, or at least I really hope not because I love her, so I’m guessing she’s either going to end up with amnesia or in a coma. Or I suppose the person she saw will prove to not be ‘A’ after all.

• Toby getting the police called on him was also clearly another ‘A’ game. I hope it gets cleared up right away for him that Emily wasn’t the one to call the police on him.

• I loved Aria’s “You’re a freak and I love you.” to Spencer so much. ♥ It’s one of my favourite lines of the entire show.

• I actually found Ezra kind of hot when he was watching Aria with Noel and then the car scene was pretty good. They are still the worst secret relationship havers I have ever seen though.

• I was surprised when Hanna continued to value Mona, even after what happened between then, because that’s not usually how it goes. Mona makes me roll my eyes but I like Hanna’s loyalty to her a lot.

• When Emily had Maya answer her phone I was completely expecting it to be a text message from ‘A’ and then for it to be ‘A’ on the phone and was shaking my head at Emily.

• I’m unsympathetic to all of Aria’s dad’s house issues considering that’s all stuff that her mom dealt with, as well as having a job, and we didn’t see her falling apart.
