These episodes felt really long while watching and upon looking at the time I realised that’s because they are. The episodes are an hour and four minutes long, without commercials!
Episode 14
• This episode was all about Hwan realising he likes Eun Sung, although he seems pretty firm in understanding his feelings for her judging by his “It’s total torture.” with regards to interacting with her, so perhaps he’s known for longer and I just didn’t pick up on it? The fact that he’d been avoiding Eun Sung because he thought it would hurt her to be around/talk with him seems to support that. The scene where Hwan calls her ‘assistant manager’ and his pronunciation of it sends her into an uncontrollable fit of laughter, and then he stares at her, captivated, was lovely. It made me like them as a pairing. Then we get him remembering her later and he can’t help but smile. He really is gone on her.
Episode 15
• Considering that there are still 13 episodes left I am surprised by how much they advanced the plot in this episode. Hwan learns the truth about Eun Sung and Seung Mi’s relationship, Joon Se confesses his feelings to Eun Sung and everyone else learns about them as well, and Hwan is only an inch from discovering the truth about Eun Woo. That’s a lot of movement in one episode.
• Eun Sung and Joon Se are so adorable and wonderful together. How can you see them in this episode and not want them together? I loved Eun Sung helping him out of his bad mood. He just has to look at her and he feels better. They have so much fun together and just enjoy the other person so much... it’s going to be a hard sell to make me want her with Hwan. Eun Sung and Joon Se simply work so well together. It’d be nice if just once the nice guy on one of these dramas got the heroine (or rather if the heroine could have the nice perfect guy for once instead of always falling for the jerk-with-a-heart.)
• I do like the Hwan/Eun Sung we’ve been getting which mainly has been Hwan getting all emotional over Eun Sung. The scene on the bus was pretty good – his expression when they stood there pressed together was pretty expressive of how he was feeling. Torture indeed. So too was his expression when he ‘learned’ about Eun Sung and Joon Se from his mother and sister – someone’s jealous.
• I think I would feel sorrier for Jung if she wasn’t such a brat. Her enthusiastic cleaning did give me a little twinge for her.
• I am really glad that Joon Se told Eun Sung the truth about his feelings because I was afraid she’d return home still in the dark and get completely ambushed by the family (as she so would).
• I liked Hye Ri’s line about how she wouldn’t go after Joon Se even if he was the last man because he belongs to Eun Sung (so to speak). I wish we’d get more scenes between Hye Ri and Eun Sung.
• Seung Mi has gotten pretty good with the lying. I was impressed with how well she managed to cover for lying about her relationship with Eun Young. Still she has to know this new lie she told will be revealed as well. She’s really become a schemer but I can’t help but feel sorry for her. Especially since she is clearly completely in love with Hwan and will lose him in the end. I mean it’s already started considering that he was actually questioning the truth about what she told him. Eun Sung has gotten to him.
• So now that Hwan is suspicious about Young Suk’s ‘nephew’ I wonder how long it’s going to take him to put the pieces together? All he really needs to do is ask Eun Sung to see a picture and problem solved but will he do it?
• What is with Korean drama’s and the guys acting like shrinking virgins? When Hwan was all ‘don’t look at me’ at Eun Sung after they ran into each other outside the bathroom I both giggled and rolled my eyes. I mean he was in a tank top! If he’d been bare chested I could have gone with it but a tank top? So ridiculous. I was also getting a flashback to Full House.
• It was a quick moment but did Sung Hee’s line about Eun Sung needing to die so she could live mean what it appears to? Sung Hee attempting to kill Eun Sung is a big leap even for her!
Episode 16
• Eun Sung and Joon Se continue to make me go aww. I was actually pretty impressed with Eun Sung when she confessed to Joon Se that she had pretended not to know how he felt. I think admitting that was really brave. She could have pretended she hadn’t know which would have made her come off better.
• I was surprised when we got the Hwan/Joon Se confrontation at the end because I figured we’d go a couple episodes with Joon Se and Seung Mi thinking/knowing that Hwan has feelings for Eun Sung before actually getting confirmation for it.
• It’s clear that Eun Sung does like Hwan but her reactions during his and Seung Mi’s song make me think that at this point that she would be honestly happy for the two of the to get together.
• The Joon Se/Jung scene was wonderful. He was so good with her. It sucks that he won’t get the girl. “How could you two be so perfect for each other?” – Hye Ri. I know, right?
• I love Hye Ri. She is such a wonderful best friend and I love how cheerful and supportive her attitude always is.
• “It’s my fault. I’m your mother.” This is one reason why I can’t just hate Sung Hee. She loves her daughter so much and even when she does horrible things it’s very much about doing what she thinks would be best for Seung Mi. I definitely believe that if all the lies and horrible things the two of them have done was revealed Sung Hee would take all the blame to save Seung Mi.
Episode 18
• I hate when you have someone about to be hit by a vehicle and instead of moving out of the way they just stand there and have to be saved. It makes that person seem like an idiot more often than not and, while I love people saving each other, there are ways to do it without making the one being saved look like an idiot.
