The Blacklist 6x14 Thoughts

Wow, this episode hit me in the feels, and managed to genuinely surprise me too.
+ I didn't know Mozhan MarnĂ² was leaving the show! So I wasn't really worried about the assassins. But then she and Aram made plans to disappear and there is no way the show would lose two main actors and yet the Task Force weren't any closer to taking down the Company, so when Samar walked away from Aram and started silently crying I mentally went 'oh no'. As far as characters leaving this show goes Samar got a pretty good goodbye. It was her choice and she survived so that's something.
+ "Who's going to take care of you?" Oh, that was heartbreaking. The way Aram says that, the break in his voice. There may have been tears.
+ "He told you so as to protect her. But because of you he has to live with the fact that he betrayed her; that his words put a target on her back. That he is the reason they will never be together again." Wow, that was super personal. Red was over-identifying with Aram hard. Considering the mention of Katarina and that the Company had been after her I'm guessing that Red was Aram at some point. He was the reason the Company was after Katarina and thus the reason she felt she had to die. I wonder how this plays into his line about 'having to choose between the mother and the child, and he chose the child'?
Red's face when Levi said "I was just doing my job", ouch! There was so much emotion there. That was not the response he wanted. I wonder who Red's 'Levi' was and what he wishes that person would say. ... Or wait. Was Red Levi? Oooh! If he was Levi perhaps the real Reddington was Aram? Or Katarina was Aram and Reddington was Samar? Hmmmmm. So Reddington/Katarina told Red something important and Red 'did his job' by telling someone (his bosses?), perhaps it was the existence of Masha or Reddington/Katarina falling in love, thus betraying them and leading to the events of the fire and both Reddington and Katarina's deaths. I could see why that would be enough to send guilt-stricken Red on this lifelong journey. Oh, I like this!
When he had the above monologue it was so emotional that I was sure it had to have been him that was 'Aram', inadvertently betraying Katarina. But that reaction to Levi's excuse - it hit him really hard. I think he was Levi. Oh, that makes so much sense. Though I'm not sure who is Aram and who is Samar.
+ This also makes Katarina's decision to go into the ocean make more sense to me, if the Company was hunting her and she knew there was no escape. This also makes me more sure that she's still alive.
+ Loved, loved, loved the Aram/Liz goodbye. Aram has always been closest to Liz and we haven't seen enough of them this season. I loved the hug so much, and they way they leaned into each other, and that Aram closed his eyes and lost himself in it for a second (saying goodbye). Lizzie's teary-eyes, the way she cups his face in her hands as she makes sure he's sure, their smiles at each other. It was so good.
+ The whole Aram saying goodbye and thanking others scene was great. Harold setting up a disappearance for them and Ressler giving Aram a contact to help them further was really nice.
+ I really liked Ressler going to Aram at the end and silently offering his support but where was Liz? Why wasn't she there too? It was weird.
+ "If you feel naked without a gun we could role play?" - Aram. LOL! He seemed very enthusiastic about it. I think teacher/pupil was his fav.
+ I loved Samar kicking the assassin's ass and I liked her telling Aram that she can always protect herself.
+ "I will never forgive you for this." Ouch. This hurt almost as much as the Aram/Samar break-up. Aram has been Red's biggest fan for so long and while there have been times I was expecting Aram to turn against Red he never did. I am really curious about where things are going to go from here between them. All I can think about are Red's words to Levi and how I'm sure Aram doesn't forgive himself. And I'm sure Red knows it too. Plus even beyond that Red has been in Aram's place recently when Liz got Mr. Kaplan to help fake her death. Red did not deal with that well at all, so hopefully Aram does a better job. And if he doesn't that Red's guilt and understanding makes him more forgiving than usual.
+ Red unflinchingly suffocating Levi with a plastic bag immediately made me flashback to the way he killed Mr. Grey way back in season one. He could have been merciful and shot him in the head but instead he did this which only emphasised how personally he was taking it.
+ So the mystery that Red had Dr. Stark working on is in fact for him. I wasn't a fan of the idea then and I'm still uncertain about what I think about it now. I find it a little strange that the show is throwing in Red having an illness this season on top of Samar's illness plotline.
+ Why would Harold ask Mossad to shut the Company down when he knows that it's an independent that every government, including his own, uses? It's literally not something Mossad can do.
+ "For most people it isn't so simple." Yeah, Liz would absolutely know about that.
+ Red scolding Levi was rather hypocritical.
+ I'm sad Levi was killed. It wasn't clear if Samar knew he did it or not but I think she absolutely did understand why Levi did what he did and I don't know that she would have wanted this revenge.
+ I wonder where McMahan has been for the last couple episodes? Red's broken the law several times already and I can't help but feel that him killing Levi, and Harold taunting his counterpart about not being able to help him is going to come back around to bite them later.
+ At the moment I hope the show ends with Aram leaving to be with Samar.
