This was an exciting episode!

Noah is the fourth alien! I considered it after his reaction to finding Isobel in the pod but his behaviour in the last episode with the actual freaking out mostly convinced me I was wrong. Frankly, considering the relatively low-key reactions all the humans have had thus far I should have guess based just on that! But then he was so shady and suspicious in his scene with Isobel - making her promise not to use her powers, characterising it as her being "an easy mark" - and I was suddenly 'yep, evil alien'. I wish they hadn't made it so obvious so the dance floor reveal would have been more of a surprise.

When Noah told Isobel "I will never let anyone hurt you. I will protect you always." I thought perhaps he was this show's version of Nasedo. But then his talk of Rosa, the fact that he was actually going to kill Max, makes me think nah. I'm very interested in what role he plays.

So what is the connection between Isobel and Noah, that he feels for her? Simply an the same sort of alien connection that the pod squad feel? What makes Isobel special? I mean why her instead of, say, Michael?

Okay, wait, did I get the flashbacks wrong? I thought they meant the blackout memories were all the fourth alien (ie Noah) and none of it was really Isobel. But here we have Isobel still considering her and Rosa maybe friends, maybe more. Is it simply because she 'remembers' Noah's memories of his feelings for Rosa and their times together or was that actually Isobel some of the time as well? I will be so happy if it's the latter.

The way Noah talks about Rose, that 'he always will love her'... is the show seriously doing alien imprinting/soulmates and exploring the dark side of it? Because if so I am so freaking down for it, give me!

I genuinely really like this Liz. I love how active and smart she always is. Her saving Michael and Max, her setting up Maria, her leaving to check Noah's blood, her hiding in Noah's car and then stabbing him with the power-suppressant, her punching him when it worked. She's great.

I liked how Isobel's realisation that Noah asking her not to use her powers was suspicious played out across her face, and that Max's first reaction is to immediately rush her away to safety excet this time Isobel refused to let him.

I loved that final shot of Isobel, Max and Liz standing together.

I really enjoyed the Liz/Cam/Isobel team-up. It's so much better having Cam in the know.

"You are not exactly the arbiter of friendship." - Maria. Uh, excuse me? Michael is an excellent friend to Isobel and Max. Also: ouch. Poor Michael. I mean he was trying to be a good friend to her by reassuring her that she hadn't done anything wrong.

Why didn't Max question Michael's alien bunker at all? I guess he really does have his head firmly in the sand about everything aliens. On the other hand, Isobel clearly seems to be second guessing it which makes me hope for her and Michael to start exploring their alien past together.

The Michael/Max fight was something that really needed to happen, has clearly been building up and it covered so much ground. How Max tried to force them not to look into their alien roots and lay low, Michael's sexuality, the Rosa cover-up, Michael being left at the group home. It really emphasised just how distant they are, especially compared to both their relationships with Isobel, as well as how much they really need to sit down and talk it out more.

Michael not letting Max heal his hand because he was hurting and wanted a reminder not to hope, to never think he could belong, to remember the danger of trusting/caring about humans was just really sad. I hope that the show takes the opportunity to make it a big thing when Max does eventually heal Michael's hand.

So Isobel's ability can only influence someone to do something they wanted to do? I don't know that that bears out - would a racist like Wyatt want to donate to a charity for immigrants? Even extending it to only working for something they're not actively opposed to doesn't necessarily work.

I liked how Isobel confronted Liz. She wasn't threatening Liz, she knows how happy Liz makes Max and she wants that for him but she also lets Liz know an important truth about herself that could negatively affect their relationship. It felt maybe a little warning but neutral overall.

I loved Max's reaction to dirt-covered fancily dressed Liz saving them.

... uh, if they're trying to convince the alien that his plan is still working, to the point of not moving Maria, then why the hell would Max head out onto the dance floor with Liz? That makes no sense! This series has a lot of 'huh?' moments but this might be the biggest yet.

Max could have cleaned up his bloody head wound when Liz cleaned up the grit on her face. Yeesh. Was he raised in a cave?
