+ Liz's grandmother being alive was a surprise. I feel a little chagrined that I've never really thought about her before. I guess I assumed that if she was alive she would have been with Dom? This is a nice twist.
+ Ressler found her wayyy too easily. Considering the manhunt for Katarina by both the Soviet and US governments (and the Osterman Umbrella Company) no one managed to find this information before Ressler spent a couple hours looking? Uh huh.
+ Still not buying that Liz has no interest in looking into her mother potentially being alive and I'm rather annoyed by it.
+ "Elizabeth. A warm light in an otherwise dark and gloomy day." - Red. Love. It does make me realise I can't remember the last time he called her Lizzie. I wonder why the switch?
+ I go back and forth on how much Red knows and suspects. He was so relieved when Dembe told him that it wasn't Liz and seemed to believe him but did it really soothe all his suspicions? This episode made me wonder if Smokey's death, and their talk about it after, was aimed at Dembe and that Red knows that he knows who the betrayer was.
+ You'd think after the disaster that was Mr. Kaplan Red would have taken a step back and looked at his fall-back of killing everyone who betrayed him, regardless of reasons, and perhaps decided a different method might be better. That said I did really enjoy the return of ruthless Red. All his scenes were excellent. James Spader does intense and menacing very well.
+ Moira taking over as Lady Luck really surprised me. I can't remember an 'innocent' during a case taking over for a Blacklister after their capture/death ever happening before.
