Project Runway 9x10 Thoughts

• I liked Bert in this episode. He made me smile/laugh several times and had a much better attitude.
• I felt so sorry for Anya. Where the heck could the money have gone? Wouldn’t the cameraman have caught her losing it?
• I really didn’t like that Anya laughed when Michael Kors made fun of Anthony’s clothes. It seemed out of character for her and it was especially rude considering that Anthony was the one who gave her money at Mood.
• Viktor also came off a bit badly with his refusal to help Anya.
Kimberly
#1: I love the fabric of the top. The top itself is – interesting. I don’t think I’m brave enough to wear it (the length in the front and how loose it is makes it a no for me) but there’s something about it I like. It looks good with the simple black pencil skirt.
#2: I like it. I’m not a jumper person but I think it looks really good. I like the back of the vest being in the black material. The only thing I am unsure about is the tiny stomach cut-out. I keep going back and forth on whether I like it or not.
Anthony
#1: I don’t like it. The fabric choices are meh and I really don’t like the two patterns together. The vest (?) is kind of superfluous and I don’t care for it. The skirt it was hard to see anything about but the back of it looked distressed or as if there was another colour in there? Hard to tell. (eta: as of the runway, yuck.) The top was – eh. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. The fabric was the better of the two but the shirt wasn’t anything special. WTF was with the belt? No, no, no. It made everything look so much worse.
#2: I hate the fabric. The dress was meh.
Bert
#1: The top was okay but I don’t really like the fabric and the wrap skirt thing was a bit weird. It made me go ‘...why?’ The shorts really showed off some booty that was for sure.
#2: It’s simple but cute. I like the shape and the neckline. I like that the back and front are different colours.
Laura
#1: I’m not sure about the fabrics together? I like the outfit – the long flowy skirt is great if very bold and the top is pretty and I like the belt – but the fabrics... I don’t know. It’s not working for me.
#2: My first thought was actually ‘holy crap, her legs never end!’ I like it a lot. Simple but pretty. I love the fabric of the top, and the back of it and I like how flowy she made the pants. I’d totally wear this. Also I agree with her that accessorising with the necklace was perfect.
Josh
#1: God, no. What is that? I think it’s so ugly. The plaid pants look really weird (especially from a distance) and are just bad, the pink/black tuxedo shirt is really not my thing and, imo, horrible looking. Plus the animal print belt and boots don’t go. There is nothing about this I like.
#2: Better (not hard). I’m not a fan of the fabric but the dress is nice enough and I like the straps at the waist instead of a belt.
Anya
#1: ... eh. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either? I don’t really have much of an opinion. I think it looks nice enough (especially for $11). Plus her use of a belt worked much better then Anthony’s.
#2: I watched this one a couple times because I wasn’t sure how I felt. The fabric grew on me the more I watched. I love the super wide pants and the top part looks good. I like it.
Viktor
#1: It’s nice. It’s very well put together and the jacket is interesting. I kind of wish we could have seen more of the shirt as well. (eta: I like it)
#2: Oh, pretty. I didn’t love the fabric seen in the top at first but I loved how it faded into the black skirt and so it ended up working for me. It looks great. The cut is wonderful, I like the black fabric belt at the waist and I love the hints of white peeking out at the skirt (second layer? Back of the black?)
Top Three
Viktor
Laura (her second look was my favourite of all looks)
Kimberly (so hard to choose between her and Anya.)
I picked Viktor to win because both of his looks were pretty good and because I automatically chose him for my top three while I spent time torn between the three girls trying to choose which of them would be the other two in top spots.
Bottom Three
Josh
Anthony
...Bert (but only because there had to be one more person. He wouldn’t be in the bottom really.)
I picked Josh to go because his first look was the worst of the episode (... season possibly) and the second wasn’t good either. Anthony was almost as bad, both of his looks were bad, but neither of his looks were as bad as Josh’s first one.
- I was pretty surprised that Anya won. I actually really liked her winning jumpsuit by this point (the more I looked at it the more I liked it) so I was fine with her win.
- Bert’s dress was pretty so I was glad that he ended up getting the prize as well. Considering they’ve already had two winners for a challenge this season, and for much less reason, I wish they’d just said that Bert won as well.
- I was fine with Anthony being out instead of Josh but I still think it should have been Josh.
• Aw, Tim. He got so choked up at Anthony leaving. He really liked him! It does make his goodbye to Olivier in the previous episode really stick out though. Judging the two I don’t think he liked Olivier at all (and even at the time I thought he was very closed off and abrupt with Olivier). I wonder if there’s a story there?
