1x08 ‘The Fourth Man in the Fire’

- The scenes at Fangtasia were definitely my favourite of the episode. I love the idea of Sookie working for Eric.

- “He can’t check me out like a library book.” made me laugh.

- I also loved Eric showing up at Bill’s house unannounced and taking a bath. I liked that whole scene.

- Sookie was looking gorgeous when talking to Bill outside Fangtasia.

- The Tara/Sookie freak-out/break-down was pretty horrible and yet so understandable on both sides. It’s also horrible because right now is exactly when they need their best friend most with both of them finding some happiness/something good happening and neither knowing entirely what to do with it, though Tara’s far more lost.

- The whole section with the babysitting was pretty adorable. I do wonder about Arlene knowing that silver is dangerous to vampires – isn’t that supposed to be a secret? How the hell would she have learned that?

- I actually found myself hoping, thinking, that Amy would begin to heal Jason but instead she’s lead him down an even worse path – torture and murder.

- I did not like Sam playing dumb to Terry, who is so broken and so sweet, and it wouldn’t have hurt him to say – yes, you saw me running naked but I don’t really want to talk about it okay? – or something similar.

1x09 ‘Plaisir D’Amour’

- The beginning didn’t really go how I was expecting with Eric and Pam standing back and watching and with how long it took Long Shadow to bite her. On the first part, that’s explained by the vampires having very stringent rules about vampires killing vampires. They were being smart. In which case why couldn’t one of them, Bill, have pulled him off and thrown him into a wall or something? That’s certainly what I was thinking after Bill staked Long Shadow and poor Sookie ended up covered in him. God, poor Sookie. That was disgusting. On the second part, I have no explanation. I would have expected him to immediately bite her. Perhaps he felt safe because of vampire rules – none of them would kill him because there were vampires present?

- So vampires dissolve into blood when they die – that’s certainly less convenient than ashes, and far more gross.

- I loved the Sookie/Pam scene. I definitely want more of them. I thought Sookie looked great in Pam’s clothes which are so different from her usual clothes. She should dress like that more.

- I also loved the make-up between Sookie and Tara which involved nothing more than one of them needing the other, and the other seeing it. I wonder though if Tara ever did learn that Sookie had thought Bill was dead that morning (the day after they slept together for the first time at that)?

- The Sookie/Bill goodbye scene was nice.

- I loved Eric and Pam at Merlotte’s – and Eric threatening the townsfolk.

- So Sam – is the dog. Huh. See this is what I thought all the way from the beginning but then they threw in that scene of him playing with a dog that looked exactly the same so I figured I was wrong. I guess that means that there is more than one werewolf in this little town than, hmm? I still find werewolves in this reality turning into dogs rather silly (but seriously good camouflage) though... perhaps he’s not a werewolf, but a weredog? I am happy that Sookie now gets to know someone else’s secret since everyone knows hers.

- Sookie being... mad, though I don’t know if that’s exactly what was going on with her, about Sam/Tara confused me a bit. I was really hoping that she wasn’t mad about their hook-up because Sam was always there as a back-up, and now he wasn’t. That’s never the impression I got from her (that he was her safe back-up guy) and I really didn’t want them to go there.
