Doctor Who 'Space / Time'

iariaI was rather annoyed that the Doctor’s response at the end was “Pond put some trousers on” because it puts the blame for everything squarely on Amy. I was actually fine with Amy being all ‘it’s my fault’ at first and was amused by the reason (glass floor!) but it actually wasn’t her fault and to see the Doctor implying with his words that he thought it was and making her the one responsible makes me angry. In fact the more I think about it the angrier I get. She wears a short skirt, Rory is distracted by it and screws up and instead of Rory being the one to be ‘punished’ it’s Amy. Because clearly if Amy’s going to wear something so revealing it’s her fault that Rory can’t pay attention... what? That’s ridiculous.
That’s exactly the ‘logic’ that leads to women having to wear concealing clothing so as not to ‘tempt’ men with their bodies and that has people saying it’s a woman’s fault she was raped if she’s wearing sexy clothing. It’s fucking ridiculous. It puts all the responsibility on the woman and none on the man – even though it’s the freaking man with the problem! If people went around assaulting people who pissed them off the victim wouldn’t be told ‘well, you shouldn’t have pissed him off’ because it’s stupid. God. Now I’m seriously pissed off here.
The Doctor’s response should have been something more like ‘Rory/Pond keeps your eyes on the job’ or even better ‘Rory no more helping’ with Amy looking smug and following after the Doctor.
Still despite the unexpected rage it was so great to see the Doctor and Companions again. It feels like forever since I last watched an Eleven episode and I missed them.
• I found all the talk at the beginning about how bad a driver Amy was amusing and very in character.
• I loved Amy flirting with herself.
• The whole idea of this story – the TARDIS getting trapped inside itself – is an excellent one and now I want to see that with a previous Doctor and Companions. Such as – what if it had been Nine/Rose/Jack instead? Or Ten/Donna/Martha? Or now I’m imagining this idea used for the other Doctor’s – Ten/Martha accidently end up in Nine’s TARDIS and hyjinks ensue. Yes, please!
