1x08 ‘Treachery’

“Don’t get me started on Emily.” – Ashley. Huh. Beyond that we don’t actually hear Ashley say anything about Emily. It’s Tyler who declares her the worst but then neither does she object.

• It’s interesting how easily Emanda calls Amily ‘Amanda’ as if that is who she truly is.

• So I actually kind of ship Emily/Amanda already but considering how their relationship played out in this episode I actually really hope the show doesn’t go there. It’s clear, sadly, that Emanda doesn’t actually care for Amily and Amily’s almost obsessive devotion to Emanda added to that hair-touch is a little too close to what’s happening with Tyler/Daniel. This show really only needs one bisexual, obsessive psycho who wants one of the main characters.

• Oh, Amily, no forethought. She’s clearly going to cause problems for Emanda but I wonder if it’s not going to be partially by accident. Leaving Frank’s car so close was really stupid.

1x09 ‘Suspicion’

• I love Nolan calling Emanda ‘Ems’.

• Nolan is all ‘we’ (“this is a dangerous game we’re playing”) while Emanda is still so stuck on ‘I’ and being unwilling to accept relaying on other people even when she clearly is. I feel really bad for Nolan because he is clearly trying to reach out and is always there for her and yet she refuses to truly trust him and continues to push him away.

Her behaviour towards Nolan makes me nervous. He puts up a with a lot of crap from her and I keep wondering when he’s going to hit his breaking point. I really don’t want him to turn on her because it would make me sad. They’re both so lonely, and unwilling to trust people and alone and I want them to rely on each other and be a family. Is that too much to ask? Instead I have a horrible feeling that things are going to blow up between them and Nolan’s going to turn on her (see the flash-forward).

• Just how many revenge mentors does Emily have? Warden Sharon Stiles and now Takeda Satoshi. I love it. Now I hope the show turns it into a running gag where every four or five episodes another mentor shows up.

1x10 ‘Loyalty’

“Aw, somebody’s jealous.” – Amily. Poor Nolan. He looked so hurt.

• Nolan and Amanda made me so sad in this episode.

I do have so hope – when Nolan left her house saying that he was “done playing her evil games” she looked visible emotional and then she followed him outside. Nolan ‘leaving her’ got to her and that moment actually stands out to me more than him causing her to cry a minute later by invoking her father’s name. We already know that her father is a weak point with her but her true feelings about Nolan have been pretty well hidden. Her going after him implied a slight chink in her amour towards him that I’m choosing to cling to.

I am glad that while Nolan clearly feels betrayed and has decided to wash his hands of Emanda (we’ll see if it lasts) he isn’t as angry as I was expecting him to be and there is no indication that he intends her harm.

• Amily and Jack are moving really fast.
