2x05 'Keep It Together'

+ D: I've very unhappy with Lea's death and that she was the main character chosen to be killed. It was in character for her to sacrifice herself to save Simone (and the cure and Rasmus and maybe with it the world, but in that moment I think she was mainly thinking of Simone.) But of all the characters she was the guiding light that she saw in Simone. She was kindness and consideration, generosity and hope for the future. She struggled with her own happiness but it felt like she was maybe finding an equilibrium, a way forward, only for it to not matter in the end. No home or belonging for her.

+ "As long as you are here everything will be fine." Even after that first lie, and her momentary feeling of betrayal, Lea's belief in Simone remains unshakable, and considering how this episode played out that just makes me even sadder. Simone lied to her again about Rasmus, but even with that Lea once again chose to believe her, and this time it got her killed.

This episode gave us the most Simone/Lea we've had this season but it still left me a little disappointed. As always Lea's ability to forgive, to be compassionate and open herself up is wonderful but I wanted to see Simone reaching out to Lea. I thought we would in their first scene but that was all Lea comforting Simone about Martin without one word of apology from Simone about the lie. Their second scene followed the first with Lea again comforting Simone. In neither do they discuss what happened or what Lea's feelings are. The only times Simone reaches out to Lea are when she hugs her at the beginning and when she begs Lea to leave the room at the end. So - disappointed.

+ Simone wasn't taking Rasmus's desire to be treated as an adult seriously at all. To her he is still the child she has to take care of. But even beyond that, like Jakob, she wasn't taking Rasmus's own concerns about how he was feeling seriously enough to engage with him, and again like Jakob it ended with tragic consequences. Things could have still been salvageable if Simone hadn't taken the time to save the cure. If she'd left it everyone would have lived and they could have continued to work on it. But her obsession wouldn't let her.

+ Simone was in a sealed hazmat suit so wouldn't she have been fine? Do they have proof that the suits don't work against the airborne virus?

+ The Simone/Jean talk about Lea was nice.

+ The first Simone/Rasmus scene was lovely and it was nice to see them joking and laughing together again.

+ Rasmus seems to putting all his hopes for the future in a romantic relationship. Again. And so soon after the last one.

+ I wonder if things would have changed at all if Rasmus had explained exactly what was happening with him as he did with Sarah?

2x06 'Survival of the Fittest'

+ I knew it would come down to Simone having to turn on Rasmus. I like that she pulled the gun on him before Martin showed up. That it was about saving everyone, and then about saving Martin.

+ Simone's solitary goodbye to Lea was a nice moment but I wish we'd seen her care for Lea more when Lea was alive.

+ What the fuck, Jean? I have nothing more to say about that.

+ "Oh, how's he doing?" - Sarah. LOL.

+ I liked Fie and Sarah, and Fie's attempt to make them a family this season has been nice.

+ I was annoyed that Sarah's 'death' was basically all about Rasmus. The second death of a woman he loved that became all about him and his feelings. Meh.

+ I liked Simone reaching out to Jean at Lea's grave.
