Fantastic Episode 7 Thoughts
Sep. 28th, 2019 06:25 pm+ So-hye telling Mi-sun about her cancer was such a heartbreaking scene. There were many tears. I really loved that it was Mi-sun who she told first. I'm so glad that So-hye finally has someone she can cry with and open up about how upset she is. Joon-ki is great but she keeps a level of control with him and she really needed that cry.
+ Mi-sun was an amazing friend this episode. Picking So-hye up with no real explanation and allowing her to stay at her place (and storing her belongings), her reaction to So-hye having cancer and how encouraging and supportive she was (it was perfect), staying up to plant cancer-fighting veggies for her. Mi-sun was wonderful, and so was her husband. I loved how devastated Mi-sun was and that scene with Pil-ho was so great. I'm glad one of the trio managed to end up with a happy relationship to a great guy.
+ Hae-sung's reaction to learning about So-hye's cancer was certainly unexpected but I'm so glad that So-hye got to hear that 'so what'. I do wonder if he figured out the truth during those couple days he was MIA and that's why there wasn't more obvious shock? He was too blasé about it. Also So-hye break up with him was painful and really hurt him, and him still thinking there was a chance for them feels like it has to be based on something, like him having a solid reason to believe she was lying to him.
+ I loved Hae-sung's barely contained rage when he called Jin-sook despicable for kicking a cancer patient out of her home. I love his anger for So-hye.
+ Hae-sung and So-hye were super cute at the beginning. I loved her pushing him away - so she could lock the door, heh.
+ Aw, poor Joon-ki. I knew I was going to end up feeling really bad for him but they just had to up the angst. Realising that Joon-ki has actually been pining for So-hye for two years is so much worse! I figured he was simply a friend who would fall for her. So him joking about being her number 2 option and listening to her happily talk about her feelings for Hae-sung and giving her good advice about her relationship with him and how serious he was when he told her "I just want you to be happy." - ugh, straight to the heart. I wish there was an obvious person he could find love with and get his happy ending too.
+ "You are the dream and wish of every writer out there." LOL! I do love how supportive and pleased Sang-hwa is about So-hye's romantic life and the gleeful thumbs up at finding Hae-sung was adorable. Also loving her evil eye at Jin-sook.
+ This episode confirmed that Hae-sung and Chang-suk are made for each other. They're both massive drama queens. Hae-sung's agonized attempt to quit smoking was fun. I loved Chang-suk at the ready with the super-soaker and his glee at getting to use it. Hae-sung grabbing it and turning it against him was inevitable and adorable. I loved Chang-suk's 'uh huh sure, okay' reaction of disbelief to Hae-sung saying he was quitting smoking - it was a small little character moment that said so much about their long-standing relationship.
I'm a little surprised at how much I've grown to love them. I do wonder about Chang-suk's seemingly romantic feelings for Hae-sung in the beginning - was I reading that wrong? Was it just supposed to be a joke now over? Or more of Chang-suk's dramatics and not romantic?
+ Loved Sul erasing her messages with Sang-wook ahead of her husband's spying and really loved her pointedly putting his mistress's earring on top of his clothes.
