Fantastic Episode 8 Thoughts
Sep. 28th, 2019 10:45 pmI love the relationships on this show so much.
+ The final scene was great and I loved So-hye finally confessing her love and Hae-sung crying over it as he kissed her. This show is so good at hitting me right in the emotions.
+ Hae-sung spends so much time goofing around that it makes the moments he's serious have more weight. I loved the little change in expression when So-hye yelled at him to stop it and his face when he walked away from her, gathering himself so he could turn around to give her a bunch of cheery goodbyes.
+ I knew that Hae-sung had to have learned the truth but Joon-ki straight up telling him made me shake my head. I actually do like Joon-ki letting him in on the secret, knowing that So-hye needed the support even if it would likely push them back together, and I'm glad that she wasn't mad about it. But I wish he'd stopped before saying "The patient is So-hye".
+ Hae-sung's stunned reaction at the hospital and then complete breakdown in his dressing room was definitely more what I was expecting.
+ The Sang-hwa/So-hye scene was wonderful. I love so much that Sang-hwa has been a longtime fan of So-hye's and had an autographed script from her. Her stunned happiness at being co-writer for the next script was great. I loved her pouting when So-hye made her give up the Jin-sook recording and the multiple copies (ha!) she'd made and hidden.
+ Loved Chang-suk hugging Hae-sung and telling him 'good job' after his little food speech to So-hye. It was so adorable.
+ The Hae-sung/Joon-ki scenes were excellent. I love that Hae-sung went to him to learn about So-hye's illness and for advice on how best to help her. He was taking notes, aww! Him giving Joon-ki his drink as well was super adorable. I love that Joon-ki took the opportunity to mess with him (the whole straddling him was so unexpected!) but that he then seriously showed Hae-sung what to do and seemed genuinely impressed with how sincerely Hae-sung was trying. I loved him cracking up over Hae-sung's demanding that he stop smiling, especially around So-hye, because it was too threatening. So cute!
+ I can't believe that it took me this long to realise how similar Hae-sung and Joon-ki are with hiding their true feelings behind a joking/arrogant and smilingly happy facades. Joon-ki smilingly joking that he doesn't want to be caught in a love triangle was sad because he is and he knows it. And of course both of them are super supportive, genuinely great guys.
+ I really loved that little moment at the end of the Joon-ki/So-hye scene where Joon-ki gets serious as he lifts his camera and mentions that high protein food is good for a broken heart and makes So-hye laugh. He was so jokey up until that moment which made it really stick out to me. I'll be disappointed if we don't see a picture from that moment at a later date. Also I love how he can make her laugh.
+ I loved So-hye telling off Jin-sook and it felt appropriate that it was her anger at Jin-sook being her usual presumptuous and terrible self that was the final push So-hye needed to decide to be with Hae-sung.
+ Something about Jin-sook this episode made me wonder if she has feelings for Hae-sung?
+ I loved Hae-sung working harder than he ever has so that he could live up to So-hye's script and desire for Hitman to succeed.
+ Hae-sung, Chang-suk and Pil-ho having a group chat where they gossip together is delightful.
+ Mi-sun and So-hye continue to be lovely. I loved Mi-sun's dismay at the ripped up check and her trying to put it back together, heh.
+ It's really time for Sul to be brought back into the So-hye storyline, to let her in on So-hye's secret and to finally tell everyone else how miserable she is and get their support to get out of it. They are all toxic and terrible people and she deserves more than just daydreams of throwing water on them.
