The Blacklist 7x03 Thoughts

Good episode
+ Aram was excellent undercover. I loved him being a badass and saving Elodie from the box. I was expecting him to be the one in the box but this way was good too and I like that my expectations were subverted there.
+ I liked Aram/Elodie. He deserves to start feeling more than numbness and loss and he and Elodie definitely felt a connection. There is the fact that she's still married but I really got the sense that her husband's injuries are so severe that he's not there anymore and will never recover. In which case I don't find it fair to expect Elodie to put her romantic life on hold if she wants/is ready to love again.
+ The Harold/Aram scene was nice. Harold is supportive of Liz a lot and it was nice to see that directed at Aram as well.
+ Harold's "I admire people who insist on finding ways to be exhilarated" was... weird. Both because of the context (of the fleurs du mal) but also that's not an impression I've gotten of him before?
+ Katarina's double meaning talk about her daughter/granddaughter really reminded me of Liz at the beginning of season 6 and her doing the same with Red and her knowing he wasn't her father. I like little these connections between them.
+ I wish they'd approached Liz's (bizarre) reaction to her mother last season differently because Liz sincerely confessing to 'Maddy' that 'she would hope that her mother would want to make amends with her too' was a really nice moment but also confusing. What happened to considering Katarina a danger? Does Liz want a relationship with Katarina? (Who by the way she still has no proof is still alive.)
+ Katarina's reaction at the end of the episode seemed the opposite of her reaction at the end of the last one. This time it felt like connecting with Liz got to her on an emotional level.
+ I loved Katarina's taunting note to Red at Steinhill's hideout. This cat-and-mouse game could be fun.
+ They really need to give an explanation for why Red hasn't visited Liz recently or why he hasn't even bothered to put someone to watch over her and Agnes, especially considering that he knows Katarina is out there now and acting against him. That is really, really not like him.
+ Still like Frankie. Her caper for Red was fun.
+ Harold letting a civilian go into a dangerous situation like that does not seem like a good idea, not even if it had been Ressler doing it.
+ Wait, what version of the story ends with Red Riding Hood being eaten? Who picks that version as a gift!
