Don't Stop Beweaving
Wow, the Lady really did just want Khlyen to be her father! I kind of love Khlyen deciding to take on this new surrogate daughter. Them forming a bond is unexpected but I like it. So I see two outcomes here: 1) Khlyen helps kill the Lady (was always planning on it, changes course when he learns Dutch is alive), or 2) He manages to turn the Lady and she gives up her desire to kill everyone. I wouldn't have expected this at the beginning of the season but I'm really hoping it's the latter.
"You'd know I would never abandon my family." and "We don't give up on this family." ♥ I love this found family so much. Fancy making a feast at the end and everyone having a happy dinner was great.
Zeph/Dutch continue to be lovely this season. I really loved them wearing 'brawn/brain' t-shirts at the final dinner. Also: "To be fair you're a slow learner." / "Cheeky tit." was adorable.
I really liked getting to see more world-building and meeting Zeph's people.
"I'm 87% guns, violence and destruction and I still have friends." - Dutch. Heh. She really is.
D'Avin trying to wing-man Johnny, and being terrible at it, was great.
I love that Calvert was 100% up for getting involved with D'Avin and Dutch.
Johnny being high on having Lucy back was adorable.
There is no way that Zeph's sister would ever be a challenge for Dutch, unless she was heavily drugged or something similar, so that fight didn't make much sense. Dutch should have taken her down immediately as we've seen her do many times before.
He was only in the background but we learned so much more about Fancy and what he likes - reading about history and cooking - than we've learned in five seasons. Not fair. I loved Zeph and Johnny's joke fighting over him at the end.
Khlyen is grieving for Dutch but he has two daughters and he knows that Aneela is still alive (and thinks that she's still trapped in the Cube) and I find it a little weird that she doesn't factor more in his actions. Isn't defeating the Lady just as important to protect Aneela as it is to protect Dutch, and if so why isn't that as important to him? Also he's never met Jaq but he is his grandson and you'd think that would matter to him more.
I like the new additions to the Team Awesome Force family. Renika, Calvert and Mace are all interesting people and we've gotten some nice moments between them and our main characters. I'm just sad that we won't really get to know them since there are only two episodes left.
I was never entirely certain where the Dutch/Aneela relationship fell - Aneela was her mother, her sister and herself in different ways - but Dutch settling on them being sisters makes sense. It was nice to see Dutch's worry about Aneela.
