iaria1x13 'Wait & Hope'
+ I liked the teasing about the suit with the team.
+ The Malcolm/Martin phone call was great and I loved that Martin’s first question was if Villefort was the first name and his worried “should I have said ‘I love you’ after Malcolm hung up.
+ The reveal that Martin has had another inmate always roleplay Malcolm made me lol.
+ "Who said that?" - Martin / (pause) "Nobody." – JT. LOL.
+ Still not feeling Dani/Malcolm.
+ Gil’s sadness over his car was amusing. Now I really want Jessica (or Malcolm) to gift him with it all fixed.
+ Ainsley being the one who got Jessica invited to the wedding was very sweet and I liked their moment earlier in the episode.
1x14 'Eye of the Needle'
Enjoyed this episode a lot.
+ The Malcolm/Jessica/Martin scene was excellent. Though Malcolm ‘profiling’ Jessica would have been more impressive if she had any sort of poker face. I really loved that Malcolm brought up Martin planning to kill him and that this time Martin admitted it.
+ Martin encouraging Malcolm to stab him was - wow. He is such a manipulative asshole. Like on one level he's helping them with the case, he's as Jess said being the martyr, he's being the "good" guy. But also he's continue to push Malcolm closer to that edge, push him closer to being even more like him (or accepting he is) and accepting the risk of death to do so. He was practically gleeful about it. How better to tie Malcolm even closer to him?
+ I loved the Ainsley interviews. I thought she did really well during them and the one with her father in particular was kind of delightful. I loved her resting her face in her hands all “so embarrassing father” afterwards. It was just really endearing! I liked how protective she was of Jessica and her interjecting “ex-wife”. I liked that kind of annoyed “since this is apparently a call-in show now, sure”. I liked seeing her show some discomfort with giving the killer a voice and her standing up to Malcolm. It was a good episode for her.
+ This episode really showcased how similar Malcolm and Jessica are. He apparently got his impulsiveness and willingness to risk himself to help others from her.
+ Edrisa's crush on Malcolm continues to charm me. I loved her happily staring at him and how pleased she was to see him again.
+ Still loving Gil/Jessica. Him running to help her in the mob of people and gently ushering her away with his arm around her was great.
+ Gil 100% knows that Malcolm stabbed Martin, just as he should.
+ Martin's guard shaking his head and Martin and his reaction to Martin's request for a knife were both great.
1x15 'Death's Door'
+ I loved Edrisa and Malcolm bonding over the history of embalming. I want more scenes like that with them. I loved him worrying about hurting her with what he said to the point that he called to clear things up and then went to see her. He thinks he's terrible with people, and definitely can be, but he tries and that's more important. I also liked their exchange at the beginning - her glee at bringing them such a neat case, him genuinely appreciating it.
