iaria1x16 'The Job'
+ "You were a weird loner kid, nooo." - Dani LOL. I loved her and Malcolm's expressions.
+ Malcolm casually trying a guess on JT's name and JT's "not even close" was a really cute exchange.
+ I'm glad that VJ not only didn't have anything to do with the robberies but came back for Malcolm at the end. Their glee was great.
+ I enjoyed Malcolm using his skills to turn the thieves against each other.
+ I loved the Martin/Jessica phone call:
Martin: Good to have someone to talk to, someone who cares as much as you do.
Jessica: You're right. I should call Gil.
Martin: And she turns the dagger.
That was great. I loved her hanging up on him (and how she answered the phone amused me). This makes me want even more Jessica/Martin interactions but also this show needs more Jessica/Gil and I want more flashbacks of Gil's place in Malcolm and Jessica's life after the arrest.
1x17 'Stranger Beside You'
+ I’ve been thinking about why I love Edrisa/Malcolm and her crush on him so much when usually this same set up would lead to massive embarrassment and/or deeply disliking Edrisa’s pushiness, and I think it comes down to Malcolm’s reaction to her. He doesn’t find it embarrassing or annoying, he isn’t uncomfortable by her interest, he genuinely likes her and seems to find her crush sweet, or at least he doesn’t mind it. I love his reactions. Like in this episode – Edrisa puts a hand on his chest to hold him back and leaves it there and Malcolm doesn’t move away or remark on it at all. He doesn’t seem interested in her but he doesn’t discourage her nor seem to dislike it.
+ I was annoyed that they had Malcolm give Alessa the signed adoption papers instead of having that moment between Christine and Alessa. Main character, whatever, it would have made more sense and had more emotion for it to have been between Alessa and Christine. I mean Christine gave them her child and then moved in as the nanny! There was a lot going on there. I’m choosing to believe that immediately after this Christine moves back in with Alessa and heals, and they heal from this trauma together and support each other and then they slowly fall in love and get married and happily raise Nina together.
+ I loved the Malcolm/Martin bonding moment.
