+ I love that we got an answer for why Ingrid had the power to give Monica anything she wanted - she didn't but because Myfanwy had amnesia she left Ingrid to make all the decisions, and thus Ingrid knew something was really wrong. I guess the fact that Ingrid didn't go to Linda or Conrad with that shows that she's really loyal to Myfanwy. Also she called her 'Myf' which I love. It makes me want more on their relationship now. I am curious about who was texting her about Myfanwy. That's slightly suspicious to me.
+ Gestalt's conversation with Ingrid was excellent. I loved that Gestalt's main concern was whether Myfanwy had told Ingrid the truth, if she'd told someone else while keeping them in the dark. But the most interesting part was that Eliza and Teddy had slightly different reactions - Teddy seemed a lot more agitated and Eliza slightly more calm, Teddy stormed out with Eliza following instead of together. Like they were shifting emotions between their bodies which is an intriguing concept.
+ I loved the Gestalt's little self-recrimination session. Them working through their upset over Myfanwy by each body voicing their rapidly shifting thoughts on the situation was such a great use of the whole four bodies/one mind thing and it was definitely the most creepy I've found them. Something about hearing it from four different bodies just automatically makes what their saying feel even more disjointed and intense and kind of chilling.
Calling themselves "stupid fucking moron", their anger at Myfanwy for lying to them bouncing between their bodies, their recriminations that they didn't realise "what asshole mistakes brain trauma for feelings", the back and forth on "person who had those feelings is gone/dead but don't say dead" and then we get between all four -- bitch/you hate her/don't hate her you love her/you don't hate her you should/you could never hate her -- which is A LOT.
+ I'm loving everything about Myfanwy/Gestalt. Their pain when she told Robert she didn't know them and the way they struggle throughout the episode with their anger at her lies and using them were well done. I loved the way everyone looked at her when she said she wanted to remember what they had. I love that Myfanwy went from remembering a snapshot of her childhood to immediately going to the Gestalts - because the intensity of the moment was something she had only ever felt when she was with them.
I definitely feel a lot for both of them. Gestalt who were childhood friends in a terrible place, who had feelings for Myfanwy for a long time and then she sleeps with them and kisses them and indicates that there are feelings on her side only to find out that she's been lying and manipulating and doesn't remember them and I totally get their anger and hurt. But at the same time I get Myfanwy's choices - she didn't remember or know who she could trust, and they indicated a relationship that she was trying to feel her way through. I guess from the outside it's easier to see her POV and I don't think she was actively using their feelings for her to manipulate them but was rather trying to navigate their feelings while trying to figure out what the fuck was going on which I think are two distinctly different things.
One thing that's really stuck out to me now is how well Myfanwy has rolled with Gestalt and the whole four bodies/one person situation. We get at the end Monica asking how it works but that's not something Myfanwy got. She was told by her past self how it worked and despite it seemingly throwing most people she seemed to instinctively get it from the start.
+ "They played me and now I question everything, not just about him but about myself." Yeah that was very relevant to both Monica and Gestalt, though I think Myfanwy's betrayal is slightly more understandable. Alex making a move on her and then Myfanwy showing up to the others to talk and apologise and want them was another great use of the Gestalt. I'm very curious if they went through with having sex with Monica after Myfanwy left.
+ I've realised that I've kind of lost what happened on the bridge. So Marcus was one of the ones killed, we know he was working with Bronwyn in an underground EVA resistance... so they used Nazim to wipe Myfanwy's memories and then tried to kidnap her to freedom? Then things went wrong because amnesia!Myfanwy got scared and lost control of her powers and killed everyone. And then... they (?) tried again at the bank? Except I thought the Lugate were involved at the bridge. And they're involved in EVA trafficing? So it's not all coming together for me. If it was the resistance then why wasn't Bronwyn there? Why eight guys if Myfanwy supposedly had a minor power? How is the Lugate and the auction involved?
