The Accountant Thoughts

I really enjoyed it.
+ I liked Chris.
+ I liked Chris and Anna. I loved the scene in the conference room where he reveals the truth and is all excited about it and she gets excited too. I loved him saving her. I liked the scene on the couch with both of them attempting to make a connection until he backs away scared and then working out what was going on with the company. I loved him staring at sleeping Anna for as long as possible as he slowly shut the door. I liked him giving Anna the Pollock (behind the dogs playing poker, cute) and her reaction to it.
We hear his father's words - "Sooner or later different scares people." - as Chris decides to leave Anna without waking her and it really made me want her to prove him wrong. I really do think she would have. She kept reaching out to him at work, she went with him after the attack in her apartment, she stayed in the hotel and again tried reaching out even though she'd just seen him murder people and seen his suspicious Airstream.
I would 100% watch, and be really pleased, if this movie got a sequel, and if it ever does I hope Anna returns and proves that his different doesn't scare her.
+ I really liked that Anna fought back fairly effectively during her assassination attempt.
+ I enjoyed the action scenes a lot.
+ I loved the Chris/Braxton confrontation reunion. That was excellent from start to finish. Braxton's slowly beginning to think it could be Chris and then his expressions when he realised it was him, and the way he kills his own guy to protect Chris without a second thought. I loved that things devolved into a physical fight between them and how that played out. With the dad’s death reveal I was expecting their confrontation to go much worse with Braxton being angrier and blaming Chris more but instead he was more upset at Chris abandoning him for a decade and I loved him telling Chris that he was supposed to come to him, not their dad.
I loved that it ended with plans for them to meet up again. With Braxton's entire team dead, as well as his client, I feel like he's going to be in a bind or at least open to a change in his occupation. I love the idea of him and Chris working together as a team going forward. Chris continues his role as a forensic accountant, Braxton acts as his backup and maybe does some other jobs on the side.
+ I enjoyed the Ray King/Medina side story. I was expecting that them hunting Chris down would lead to them actually crossing paths with him so it was really a surprise when it didn't happen. I loved the twist that the entire thing was Ray vetting Medina as his successor and her eventual acceptance of it.
+ I also really liked Ray's reveal about his only run-in with Chris and how it tied in some of the previous clues Medina had found in her search. I like that it was being a good father that not only saved him but was also part of the reason Chris choose him. The other part being where he confesses he was terrible at his job but showed by being there that he wanted to make it right.
+ I loved Justine as The Voice, who took care of Chris, and the genuine connection and closeness they clearly shared. Chris bankrolling the Harbour Institute and the Justine reveal was a great end note.
+ Jon Bernthal was really hot in this movie. The scene where he walks down the street while across the road Chris follows him was peak hotness.
+ I'm surprised that Anna didn't have more of a problem with the police over the two dead assassins in her apartment (and the two outside) and her destroyed bathroom. That's definitely not something she could cover up so what did she tell the police? I have no idea how to explain that. Could she get away by pretending she was never there?
