Prodigal Son 1x20 Thoughts

+ This show has taken me on a journey with Ainsley because in the beginning she was my least favourite character but I've slowly grown to like her more and more and with this finale I am so excited to see where the show goes with her.
When Martin said "He's a Whitley" my immediate thought was that Ainsley would end up killing Endicott because, duh, she's a Whitley too. And frankly, I've always thought it obvious she's the more ruthless of the two.
I loved her killing Endicott and the way that was shot - Ainsley coming up behind him during his villain 'I am invincible' speech, pulling his head back by his hair and then slitting his throat with a cold look on her face - was excellent. Her screaming and then stabbing him seven times was maybe a bit much. I liked the contrast between that and how she started the scene - sitting beside him scared, with tears rolling down her cheeks.
+ I loved Martin's proud smile and "My girl" after he learns that Ainsley killed Endicott. I wonder if he's going to have a new favourite and what that could mean for Malcolm's relationship with him.
+ "You are the smartest one in here, start acting like it." That was a great Martin/Ainsley moment. I loved their shared look down at her hand on his arm and Martin's little smile as he was pulled away.
+ I loved Gil telling Malcolm to run and their hug goodbye.
+ I have to give Jessica props for not only not giving herself away when Gil got stabbed but then knocking Endicott out and rescuing Gil. A+ job there! Honestly I just really like Jessica, she's great. I love how she has Malcolm's back no matter what. I loved her "you're grounded" at the beginning.
+ I loved the Edrisa/Malcolm scene. Of course Edrisa would help Malcolm and never doubt his innocence. I liked their hug a lot.
+ I loved Malcolm introducing himself for the first time as Malcolm Whitley, and that it was to Sophie. I liked their scene together. I liked that this thing that's haunted him for so much of his life had a kind of happy ending. I liked her pointing out that he was just a kid then and that she had her own name for him (the boy in the basement). I loved, and am deeply unsurprised, that he chose to cover for her. I kind of hope this isn't the end between them cause I find myself wanting them to be friends. They're both heavily damaged people (Sophie more so from Endicott), both loved and lost Eve and I don't know I just like the idea of them bonding.
+ I have no idea how they are going to get out of this mess. Is Malcolm going to try and cover up Endicott's murder? I feel like the easiest (for the Whitley's) way that this could play out is if Sophie came to the house having had a change of heart over Malcolm taking the fall for the murder she committed and upon discovering them standing over Endicott's murder decided why not take the blame for that, and in the course of it finally tell the world the truth about Endicott.
+ Even if it was only four days I am so glad that Eve and Sophie found each other before Eve's death.
+ I liked Martin's "I miss Mr. David". That's sweet.
+ Leonard getting so into taking Malcolm's place with the ankle monitor amused me.
