The Predator

+ I really liked Casey Bracket. She was very tenacious which I appreciated. I loved her chasing after the Predator to try and tranq it, I loved her stepping in front of Rory when the Predator aimed at him, and just in general I loved how involved in the action she was. She escape the soldier sent to kill her by herself (well, with the alien dog) which I appreciated. I love her showing up at the end having used the invisibility ball to sneak up on the Predator.
She was also surprisingly competent with weapons and I wish there’d be some explanation for it. I feel like it would have been better to have made her a part of the whole research team from the start rather than someone being brought in at the beginning. She could have been Traeger's counterpart.
+ I enjoyed Casey disagreeing with the name Predator as appropriate, everyone being all 'it's cooler' and then Nebraska making her same point later on.
+ I was annoyed that once again there was basically one female character involved in the story especially since I think they could have easily added McKenna’s wife Emily into a bigger role. Just let her go with them to save her son and make her good with weapons too, and done. But of course we can’t have that.
+ The bond between the soldiers was nice and I liked them as a group even though they were obvious canon fodder. I wish one of them had survived – Nebraska being a survivor would have worked even better than him sacrificing himself. Have McKenna pull him down when the shield is going up (they were together) while Nettles jumps above instead of standing there dumbly and getting his legs cut off, then Nettles sacrifices himself and Nebraska helps take down the super Predator.
+ The explanation of the larger new Predators being hybrids created by the original Predators who have since turned to hunting their predecessors makes sense to me. Trying to make themselves better seems like a very Predator thing to do.
+ But why did the Predator choose to bring the armour to Earth out of all the planets? Are there other 'traitor' predators who stole armour and took it other planets? If the Predator was always intending to give the armour to the humans why did he go on the killing spree at the lab instead of trying to talk to the humans? That doesn't make sense to me. Honestly there were a bunch of little things about this set up that was ???. Considering how much they seemed to know about Predators (how?) they were shockingly unprepared to hold a live one. Why wasn't it even strapped down?
+ I wasn't a fan of how easily the super predator killed the predator.
+ I wish we'd seen Casey at the end. (Her being a part of it from the beginning and now being in charge would have worked well.) I like to think that she's still working with the secret government alien branch and also has adopted the alien dog.
