Roswell New Mexico 2x01 Thoughts

"He was my other half... my better half. I don’t think I’ll ever let him go." I loved Isobel using Noah's funeral to give an eulogy for Max. I liked that she used her emotions over Max to cover for lack of similar grief for her husband. I loved her grief over Max's death - her dramatic sobbing over his body, her begging Michael to help her, her supremely pissed off look at Michael telling her there was no hope, that she's been practising and pushing her powers in order to save him, her spending time sitting by his podded body. I also liked that while her going off on Liz was a set up everything she said also felt like Isobel speaking the truth.
I loved Liz helping Isobel maintain the Max cover by staging that rather embarrassing fight at the funeral. She was 100% sure Max was dead so her doing it was entirely for Isobel's benefit, which was deeply kind of her.
The one two gut punch of losing his mom and Max are clearly tearing Michael up on the inside and I'm so sad that he clearly has had no one to lean on during those two weeks. I just want someone to be there for him.
I'm sad that Max's death not only didn't bring Isobel and Michael together it actually created a distance between them. Nothing showed that better than him walking into Noah's funeral late instead of being there for her. Does Isobel even know that he found his mother (plus a bunch of other captive aliens) only to watch them die immediately after?
I liked Michael and Liz's little moment of bonding over alien biology and the idea of them (plus Kyle) working together to science Max back to life. I loved Liz's whole speech at the end.
I feel like Michael keeping the 'save Max' plan from Isobel could end up blowing up in their faces. Just tell her the truth!
Rosa forcing the car into the path of Flint in order to retrieve Noah's body was great. I hadn't really considered what it meant to have Rosa back but her being a teenager still (and a troubled one) while Liz is now the older sister gives them an interesting dynamic. I liked their scenes.
I loved Isobel's dramatic funeral look.
I liked Michael calling Alex on the push/pull he made their relationship and how Michael always did what he asked. I liked Michael standing up for himself.
I would appreciate the little mentions of 'Tess' more if they didn't feel like digs at the character, you know, considering she was my favourite on the other show.
