Roswell New Mexico 2x03 Thoughts

I really enjoyed this episode.
+ All the Isobel/Max scenes were amazingly good. I was really hoping that hallucination!Max was really Max and I think it was left open enough to go either way. On one hand, when Max talked to Rosa he spoke only of a feeling and not as if he'd been hanging out with Isobel all day. But on the other hand, Max's reactions especially once she started bleeding were very real, she only started seeing him after Michael's jumper cables idea, and also I just really want him to have been there. I love that either way Max did feel Isobel dying and got help for her even when mostly dead.
I really deeply loved both of these exchanges:
"I wouldn't have left you, Is. Deep down you know I would never choose anyone over you because you would never choose anyone over me. Not even yourself. ... Do you think I want to come back to a world without you in it?"
"My mind keeps reaching for you. It's like a reflex. When you love someone. .... when you lose your person. ... I keep reaching for you, and then losing you. I lose you a hundred times a day."
Also I love that the wedding photo Isobel has displayed in her room is of Noah, her and Max.
+ Liz was, as usual, lovely towards Isobel and I really liked Isobel apologising to Liz for lashing out at her (since she couldn't let herself be mad at Max) and Liz understanding it. I loved Isobel wrapping Liz's arm around her shoulder and Liz holding her. It was a nice scene.
+ I loved Cam and Liz bonding over sisters, and shooting, and Max. I love how well they got along considering how much reason they could have to dislike each other, and I appreciate it so much. I really liked all their scenes. Also Cam teaching Liz to shoot and Liz loving it was great.
+ I loved Cam refusing to let Michael stonewall her. I'm so glad that she came back.
+ I enjoyed all the flashbacks we got of Michael's mother Nora and I'm interested in seeing more of her and her maybe sister's (?) story. I'm guessing the sister and the helpful stranger at the end are Mimi's parents (or grandparents)? It can't be Nora can it? Because that would make Michael Maria's (half-)uncle (or great uncle) and I can't see the show going the incest route. Probably. ... Although if the two women are sisters than Michael and Maria are still related just further as first cousins once or twice removed. Huh. Hmm. ALSO if the sister is Max/Isobel's mother than they're Maria's aunt/uncle (and Michael's cousins.) I don't know how I feel about this!
+ I loved how casual Rosa was with telling Maria the truth. 'I don't know a good lie so have the unbelievable truth'. That was great. I wish we could have seen more of how it played out and more of Maria's immediate reaction. Still I'm very glad that she's now in on the secret.
+ I liked the final Liz/Rosa scene and am enjoying what the show is doing with Rosa thus far.
+ Michael making breakfast for Maria was sweet and they were cute.
+ Why the heck didn't Michael call Liz (or Isobel as his fellow alien) and let them know that Maria now knows the truth? I'm enjoying their friendship/partnership but him returning to his home to sulk was so childish and selfish.
+ I supposed Isobel could have asked Liz to not say anything but I've very meh about Michael being left in the dark about her almost death. I am very disgruntled by how separated Michael/Isobel have been! I'd better get a scene between them in the next episode where he gets to freak out over her almost dying and leaving him too.
+ It's been a month since Rosa's return and I find it a little weird that Isobel has shown no interest in her at all. Yeah, she has a shit ton of other stuff happening - evil dead husband, beloved brother dead, working to strengthen her powers, possibly evil spawn - but last season she seemed to feel what Noah felt for Rosa so I'd expected her to have at least asked about her.
+ Isobel choosing to do this alone shows that a) she needs Michael and they need to make up this distance between them, and/or b) she really needs a girl friend she can lean on. There are four great women on the show already, let her have one!
