Episode 9 & 10

• Kyubey was wonderfully disturbing in episode 9. It’s just that he is so alien in how he thinks. I love that he’s an actual alien. Him asking Madoka “Why do you make such a big fuss over the loss of just one of you?” was very creepy. I loved him telling Madoka: “If you feel like dying for this universe just call us. We’ll be waiting.” Then at the end it’s revealed that he basically manipulated Sayaka into getting herself killed so that Madoka would have to accept a contract. He is an awesome enemy.

• “It’s okay. I’ll be beside you Sayaka.” Episode 9 also had some really amazing Kyoko/Sayaka happening.

• If I didn’t ship Homura/Madoka before episode ten I certainly would after. I loved that episode. God, poor Homura. The difference between who she started as and who she became was startling.

• The idea of Homura re-writing time over and over again, trying to save Madoka really works for me. “No matter how many times I have to repeat it I will protect you!” She just loves Madoka so much! That sort of devotion always gets to me. It was that one reality – the second I believe – where Madoka pleads with her to go back in time and stop her from becoming a Puella Magi and then Homura kills her to prevent her from becoming a witch (ouch!) pretty much solidifies the reason behind everything Homura does. She is all about not only protecting Madoka but also making Madoka’s wish to not be a puella magi come true.

• Something I found very interesting was that when the two of them were dying together Homura’s reaction is “How about we become monsters together... and turn this world upside down?” and for them to destroy everything. So basically she would be completely fine being good or evil as long as she gets to do it with Madoka at her side. ♥

• Although as the previous time jump shows Homura preventing Madoka from becoming a Puella Magi, and thus eventually a witch, does more than just save Madoka it will also save the world. If Madoka becomes a Puella Magi she will eventually destroy the world because she is just that powerful.

• Other things I loved in episode 10 include all five of the Puella Magi interacting. I want more of that! I want a reality with the five of them together as friends and allies.

• I loved Homura using her power to steal guns and bombs (from the police? Mob?) in order to be more powerful/useful.
