Say It Ain't So

+ I really loved Michael’s little smile when Isobel told him, with awe and joy, that she saw her mom. Such a lovely little moment.

+ I loved the reveal that old man Sanders is Walt. It completely recontextualizes his relationship with Michael in a really interesting way and I hope the show does something with it. Michael always felt alone but at the same time in the background was this gruff and grumpy old man who let him sleep on his couch and taught him to cook and gave him a job when he needed it. Walt was there for Michael's whole life, knowing exactly who he was and watching over him. I wish they'd done more to set this up.

+ I loved the Jenna/Max scene. I really like the direction they've gone with her.

+ I enjoyed Isobel and Maria working together.

+ I think this show has too many characters and plots because they are not good at meshing them and this episode was really bad at that. Too many random plotlines/relationships instead of concentrating on the ones that matter. Like -

- Why didn't Isobel call Max that she saw their mom?

- Why wasn't Maria at Rosa's bedside giving her the necklace instead of Liz? In fact the show has really fallen down on the Maria/Rosa relationship. They were best friends and they have barely interacted. Yeah, maybe it's awkward now, maybe Maria has divided loyalties because Liz is now her best friend and it causes conflict. There is a lot of potential in these relationships and nothing. Plus, you know, Liz probably could have used a best friend. In fact where was Alex during all this? Or Kyle who loves Liz and is Rosa's brother. They had the reveal that they both know but barely any interaction since. Maria and Kyle get mentioned in the scene but we should be seeing them together.

- Michael's turn around on Maria using her abilities felt quick and because it happened off screen had me wondering why. What would have made sense would have been him talking to Isobel (who was controlled by her husband, who had decisions made to protect her by them that made things worse) or Max (about how overbearing Liz's worry for him is and his wish that she would trust/respect him to know his limits) and from that Michael realising he needs to step back.

+ "Don’t you dare say I have to stay because of police business, you bar wench." – Liz. Hee. I liked Max's grin.

+ Why the hell would Max use his powers to overload the fusebox instead of simply flipping down the lever? Especially since they lingered on the lever! Have him short it from a distance because he can't get to it if they wanted him to use his powers.

+ I don't buy Jesse's "no fight" schtick and no one else should either.

+ Giving Rosa a slight makeover in clothes and hair is not enough for her to walk around Roswell without worry of being recognised! That is deeply dumb. Especially since she's fairly infamous.
