+ I'm loving the whole idea of this series with two parallel worlds - a republic and a kingdom - reached by magic flute. I excited to see what the show does with it.
+ I love Ok-nam and her relationship with Gon. The scene in his rooms over the talismans was lovely.
+ I liked Tae-eul's introduction and her relationship with her team.
+ I'm interested in the potential time travel aspect (the badge was from the future) and the scary version of herself Tae-eul saw in the mirror (was it rabbit girl?). What is the kingdom version of her up to and why didn't Gon track her down before this?
+ The person who rescued little Gon really seemed like a man. I wonder if it was older Gon or maybe Yeong who went back and saved him?
+ Little Gon was stabbed by the flute on the left side of his neck but King Gon has a scar on the right side. That is such a massive continuity error that I have to assume it was on purpose though I'm not sure what it means. Is the adult Gon we see not little Gon - either because of time travel/parallel universe or he was replaced?
+ Gon/Yeong are great so far and also surprisingly damn shippy. I was not expecting that! I liked Yeong's little smile when Gon gave a celebratory cheer with his team. The way Yeong grabbed the attendant's wrist at the same time as Gon to keep him from touching Gon was great. Yeong standing in the bathroom waiting for Gon to get out of the shower, and telling him not to ask how long he was there amused me. Just the obvious ease between them even with Yeong being so serious and professional all the time. It's clear that Yeong is Gon's closest confidant. Their meetings as kids were sweet.
This was great: Yeong: "Because you've grown up well. You don't need anyone's help now." and them looking at each other before Gon gives a little smile and declares that Yeong isn't mad at him anymore "my dear Yeong".
And then there's that moment in Gon's office when he walks to Yeong and they look at each other silently for a couple seconds before he leans towards Yeong (their faces so close, Yeong leaning away) and asks with a smile "Are you having fun, Captain Jo?" and he replies, without changing his serious expression, "Don't". To which the king asks "Don't do what?" before walking away with a smile. ... What even was that about? I'm intrigued.
+ I'm hoping there's more to Yeong as a character beyond the serious straight-laced guard we see in this episode, hopefully some of the spunk we saw in him as a child is still there.
+ I do wish they'd used different colour filters for Corea and Korea to better differentiate between the two. If the show jumps between the two I could see it getting confusion.
