It was excellent. I loved it.

+ It was super funny. I loved the jokes. The pratfalls were genuinely funny - Miles first experience with his spider-powers and his 'jump' off the small building made me laugh, and his attempt to escape with unconscious Peter B had me in hysterics.

+ I loved Miles. I loved Peter B. I liked Gwen a lot.

+ Miles and his dad were great. Jefferson was a great dad. I loved Miles vs his dad and 'I love you' on the front steps of his school. It was funny and heartwarming (maybe not for Miles). I loved Jefferson talking to Miles outside his door after Aaron's death and how that ended up being the support Miles needed to finally gain control of his powers.

+ Miles and Peter B were wonderful together.

+ I loved the whole Alchemax sequence. Miles and Peter talking beforehand (the cape, the rundown on the plan, this: "Step 3 I reexamine my personal biases." LOL); Miles rushing in to help Peter and their exchange in the vents about not letting another Spider-Man die; the gag of their shadows through the window while the villains are talking; Peter's "Teenagers, just the worst" (lol); invisible Miles; Dr. Olivia Octavius and everything about her (A+ reveal); Miles: "organise your desktop lady" and then taking the tower and monitor; the fight; the cafeteria and "he took a bagel!"; and then the entire flight/fight through the forest ending with meeting Gwen.

Also I loved that one scientist in the cafeteria who decided it was just too much effort to pull out a gun. I feel like she had a really long week.

+ The movie looked really great. I liked the comic book aesthetic and the use of colour. I liked how all the spider-men were in different styles to match their worlds.

+ Miles coming into his own at the end and his triumphant use of his powers, for the first time in control, was wonderfully done. That shot of him falling into the city was amazing.

+ I love that Miles inner thoughts or words sometimes get added as comic bubbles. The giant LOOK OUT behind him when his spider-sense first activated was a great way to show it.

+ I loved Peter casually walking down the side of a building as Miles cautiously slides down behind him

+ I loved Aunt May and wanted more of her. She clearly has a much more interesting life going on than other versions of herself. Not only was she in the know about Peter being Spider-Man (awesome) but she was helping him! She was his Alfred! Actually she was more than that since she actually built Miles web-shooters herself which is amazing if an unexpected skill set. Did Peter teach her or did she help him build them? Also! She was friends with 'Liv'! She was completely unphased by everything. ... I just loved her and I desperately want to know more about her.

I like to think post-movie she has Miles take over Peter's spider-cave hideout and helps him out, and they grow to love each other.

+ I loved Peter Parker #1. He was on-screen for five minutes and he was a delight. Quippy, funny, competent, excellent with Miles.

+ Miles 'eh' reaction to the spider biting his hand is very much not the reaction I would have had and I loved the unexpectedness of it.

+ I loved Miles noping out off making that first jump off a high building. Great cut, it made me laugh.

+ I loved the scene when Miles went to Aaron's apartment and the Prowler showed up and how that played out. The scene was tense and the reveal was great. The music was excellent.

+ Peter B's attempts to have his pizza - twice - during the weird black/neon wormhole opening in his ceiling amused me.

+ The end credits animation with the two spider-men meme was hilarious and great. I'd love to see more of that version of Spider-Man and his computer/AI? companion.

+ The only thing I was meh about was Doc Ock getting hit by the bus during the big end fight and then never being seen again. What happened to her? Did she die, or get sent to another dimension? She was my favourite villain so I wanted more of a resolution there.

+ I was disappointed that Miles didn't pay Mary Jane a visit after Peter's big public funeral made it obvious that she knew what her husband had been. It seemed the obvious place to go to find an ally, someone he could trust and who might have some advice on what to do. I guess guilt for being unable to help Peter is why he didn't consider it?

I am curious about why the hell Mary Jane was at Kingpin's dinner honouring Spider-Man. Did Peter keep her in the dark about the spider side of his life and thus she had no reason to suspect Kingpin of anything nefarious? Was she spying on him? What was going on?
