Welcome to Bardo

I loved it.

Bardo

+ Bellamy! It was so great to see his face. I actually loved what happened with him. I thought the mystery of his disappearance was going to be all about the other characters and it would end for us in Bardo but him being blasted through the Anomaly by an explosion and leaving us no idea about what happened to him - I'm into it. I'm a little worried about just how much time he's going to be off-screen going forward but I love the idea of this mystery. Obviously he's not dead but where is he? Shot through time into the past or future? On a different planet? Or both? If so what planet? I kind of love the idea that he's back on Earth. Is he going to lose his memories, and if so how much? I can't wait till the flashback episode that shows us his journey.

+ The way that scene played out was a little strange. Anders is the First Disciple and yet random Disciple was willing to set off the bomb, while Anders was right there!, just because he disagreed with his choice? These people don't seem the type to act outside the established hierarchy so why would he, not even a white coat, think he was 'doing the Shepherd's bidding'? Either there is a serious fracture in this cult/Ander's leadership (maybe, could be interesting) or this was somehow planned by Anders (seems more likely, also interesting).

+ There is no way that Bellamy would agree to abandon Octavia with her kidnappers. Or that her "even about Clarke" wouldn't pique his interest and make him even more stubborn about not going. Octavia had to have known that.

+ I love Levitt. Love him. I really hope we get to keep him. He is what I was expecting to get from Jordan last season - adorable, enthusiastic, kind, and a super fan of Earthkru, deeply interested in their lives and wanting to get to know them better. Him basically getting to watch the first 3 seasons of the show from an Octavia centred POV and loving it was kind of delightful. It makes me want to see his reactions to the next 3 seasons. I feel like Blodreina wouldn't really change his opinion all that much.

His fangirling/crush on Olivia is deeply adorable. I loved him reassuring her that she isn't a killer but a warrior and one with a pure heart. I loved his enthusiastic 'YES!' when Octavia stabbed Pike and then: "Sorry, it’s just you’re amazing." (: (: So freaking adorable. Just in general all the Octavia/Levitt interactions were great and I loved them together.

I also loved his conspiratorial grin at Octavia when he said his boss "can go float himself" (he was so chuffed with himself!) and then how obviously pleased he was that Octavia told him "May we meet again" and that he got to say it back. He's such a big fan! And it took barely any effort on Octavia's part to get him to go along with helping her escape. Like... I can't get over it. How is this pure cinnamon role even possible? Oh. I really hope this wasn't all him playing Octavia because that would make me sad.

+ I love that "whose hand reaches out for your own" is Bellamy. I mean, of course it's Bellamy but it still made me awww.

+ I have a really hard time buying Octavia leaving Hope and Diyoza on Bardo to return to Alpha alone, knowing her memories are going to be wiped and that the Disciples will be alerted as soon as she goes through. I don't buy it. I wish they'd made her more obviously disoriented or something.

+ Octavia making basically the same deal Clarke made to her for Madi in S5 - Hope's safety for betraying/giving up her other people - was kind of great. I also really loved Hope and Octavia's reunion and goodbye.

+ "She is the Key to everything." I KNEW it! They want Clarke because of ALIE and/or the Flame. Clarke on the throne felt very prominent and it's when she had both in her head. Now do they want the Flame (oops, too bad, probably) or do they want ALIE (who we know there's a part of still in Clarke's head)? Or actually it's probably some combination of her having had both in her head at the same time that makes her particularly special since she was the only one who did.

+ I'm surprised that Anders didn't get Hope to try and tag Clarke instead of Octavia. Octavia is good for information but Clarke is who he wants. I guess it was a timing issue.

+ Actually, after having watch Clarke (even if via Octavia's memories) I'm a little surprised that Anders didn't consider reaching out to Clarke and setting up a meeting between leaders. Clarke usually goes for that!

+ Every time one of Earthkru came through the Anomaly ending with them kicking Disciple ass I was very yay because it was badass but also by the end a bit much. I mean that is absolutely our people, yup, but by Bellamy I was with Gabriel in wanting them to chill.

At this point our people have killed a ridiculous number of Disciples and they have still yet to kill any of Earthkru. For a group of supposedly amazing warriors who've trained all their lives they are getting their asses kicked. It kind of lessens the threat, you know? Meanwhile, they have absolutely done shady shit - kidnapping, torture chair, threats, planning to kill Hope etc. They're not 'good' people. But I'm really beginning to wonder if they 'bad' either? Could they end up being allies?

I mean we've thus far gotten to know three Disciples as people [Dev, Orlando, Levitt] and thus far all three proved to be kind, helpful and genuinely good guys who've become friends with our people. It's making all this rampant murder not sit very well with me.

+ Native Bardoans?! Did the show just confirm aliens? Cause, huh, that seems a little late in the series to do but I'm here for it. OR were they humans who travelled to Bardo via the Earth Anomaly stone a long time ago? Except then they transformed into "crystal giants" wtf? The show had better not drop this because, damn, do I want to know more!

+ So our time differential is something like: 14 days/Bardo = 10 years/SkyRing = 20 seconds/Alpha? ... I have no idea if that works with what we've seen but sure, why not. I wonder where Nakara is on that scale? Or Earth for that matter since it's a part of the bridge.

+ I loved the mixed up timeline of the Bardo storyline as we were shown it.

+ Of all of Echo's murders thus far her killing the interrogator was the one I had the most issue. It was entirely a killing about her pain and rage. She was taking her emotions out on the nearest convenient target, the only one disposable to her. Her strategic killing makes sense to me, this not so much. That said, I felt bad for her.

+ Poor Gabriel is so exasperated and just done with all this pointless killing. I'm with him but find it kind of hilarious. He’s like "just stoppppp itttt guys!" with a stomp of his feet, LOL. I feel like he and Indra need to get a drink together.

Sanctum

+ INDRA! ♥ She was so amazing! Definitely MVP this episode. I loved basically everything about everything she did. I loved her shutting down 'Russell's' attempt to manoeuvre because they "dictate terms now". I loved how exasperated she was with basically everyone all episode. I loved her staring down Nelson - I, and clearly he, knows that she doesn't need a army.

Indra figuring out Sheidheda was such a fuck yeah moment. I love how she tricked him into revealing himself. Her taking out the mind drive was even better. What a brilliant way to deal with Sheidheda! I loved her threats and intense stare off with him. They've made me a lot more interested in this storyline and I hope we get more backstory on them. I'd love if it had something to do with Indra's mother and tie it back to the mothers/daughters theme we started the season with.

Also I loved that ruthless little moment where she manipulated Jackson with his grief and fury at Russell "for Abby" to cause Sheidheda pain.

+ "Faith isn't the problem. Blind faith is." - Indra. I found this very interesting coming from Indra who, I guess the conflict with Gaia, had me thinking didn't care for faith/religion.

+ I loved Murphy going into the bar, and thus away from Indra’s protection, because he got so righteously angry that they were going to use a kid next. It was a great Murphy moment.

+ Emori was barely in the episode but her immediately volunteering to go in to talk down the Faithful when she could barely even stand up was such a great little moment for her. She has changed so much and become such a team player. I love it.

+ Murphy/Emori didn't have a lot but I loved his concern for her. This exchange was super cute:

"Had to find the right dress"
(Murphy looks her up and down)
"You did."

I also loved the 'Look' Emori exchanged with Murphy that led him to decide to talk to the Faithful. Someone is definitely the Morality Anchor in that relationship but it's not Murphy.

+ It was interesting that we didn't see Indra/Nelson/whoever destroy Russell's mind drive and since we didn't I feel like it has to come into play at some point. What I'm really interested in is if his mind drive is the new Flame. When Shiedheda transferred over were the rest of the Commanders with him and are now on the mind drive? ... Which makes me wonder if Madi could end up with it in her head.

+ Nelson made no impression on me last season but I liked him this episode. I liked him trying to save the burning Faithful woman. I liked his interactions with Indra. I liked his exchange with Emori. I hadn't really connected them as similar but they really do have the same backstory. If this wasn't the last season I'd love to get to know him more and explore a potential connection between him and Emori, but since it is I'd rather the show start concentrating more on our main characters.

+ "I love him like a son." with that little touch to Murphy's face. ...um, yes please? That scene plus the expression on Shiedheda's face when Murphy was all "live and let die" about the Faithful has made me go from 0 to 100% on board with more Murphy/Sheidheda.

+ Murphy hoping 'the others come back soon' soothes my annoyance with them apparently not telling anyone what was going on. That said, while I realise there is a lot happening in Sanctum I would have liked a little more talk about these random new humans with greater technology who kidnapped some of their friends. The way Murphy said that line made it sound like they'd gone for a stroll. Where's the gossiping/worrying for the friends or wondering if they should send backup or literally anything! Them saying nothing about the Bellamy group at the beginning of the season didn't bother me because they had no reason to worry but here they absolutely do.
