+ Everything at CrashCon being wrapped up in the first five minutes makes me shake my head so hard. The pacing on this show is so terrible.
+ The scary stowaway alien, the man keeping kid Max chained, the man in the cave - is Max's doppleganger. Is Max is the clone of him? Was he created to be a savour or a weapon, or both? Or is Max actually a twin and with science were aged differently?
+ On the Max/Liz argument I think they're both in the wrong.
I agree with him that her research/lab is an open danger to him and his family. She keeps saying that she would never let the information about them fall into the wrong hands or be discovered - but it almost happened. Him not being okay with it makes sense and the way she keeps ignoring and brushing aside his feelings about it is pretty terrible of her. Also I'm annoyed that Isobel and Michael, who have their own separate relationships with Liz, weren't ever shown to express their own opinions. Or Maria who now knows she's an alien too and would be affected just as much if anything went wrong.
Max choosing to blow up the lab, in the situation he was in, I think was the right choice. And Diego arriving when he did showed that it was.
But Max made that situation happen by not calling Liz like Jenna told him to. He easily could have called her on his way to the lab. He had time. He chose not to tell Liz because he didn't trust her, it's as simple as that. (Actually this really bugs me because we know Liz was at the hospital since she got Kyle for the appointment. So she randomly disappears to facilitate this drama, and I hate when this show does that, or he purposefully left her at the hospital in which case they should have shown it.)
In addition, after blowing up her lab Max preceded to return home and not tell Liz. WTF, Max??
Plus it's hard to agree with him when he is lying to Liz about taking the antidote and sneaking around behind her back.
+ Considering that we saw Diego already sneak into Liz's lab I'm sure he took many photos/copied the information he could, and perhaps even took samples.
+ I hate how the Alex/Michael/Maria triangle played out having now seen it in it's whole. This episode made it very clear that Michael/Alex have always been endgame and Maria was just a random bump. That she wasn't an equal third side of the triangle. It's kind of infuriating in fact. I've though multiple times this season that it felt like they weren't even trying with Michael/Maria and it seems like they really weren't. They were just using her as a temporary love interest and she deserved better than that.
I was so annoyed by Maria breaking up with Michael it what felt like a really random way. It came out of no where for me. A few episodes back Michael made the choice to support Maria in using her abilities if she wanted and now suddenly it's all about his fear again? He tells her he loves her but it felt weirdly hollow. What it comes down to, it feels, is that Michael is deeply in love with Alex and Maria has suddenly realised it, or maybe this is an insecurity she's been struggling with the last couple episodes and they forgot to show it, and she broke up with him over it. Just everything about this annoys me.
+ I did like Maria defending Mimi and her decision to take off the bracelet and explore and embrace her powers. I hope this leads to a lot of scenes with Isobel next season.
+ Alex has an excellent singing voice.
+ I'm pretty meh about Alex/Michael as a pair but I enjoyed everything between them this episode. Them tearing down the shed was great. Alex's song to/about Michael "You are the best of me" was beautiful. I even liked Michael telling Isobel that 'it isn't our time now but one day it will be'. I wish I'd liked everything that came before this more.
+ I loved Isobel refusing to leave Liz and then pulling her away when the console began to crack.
+ It's funny but while I loved Isobel refusing to leave Liz I found Michael's refusal to leave Alex with his father really irritating. Isobel was protecting Liz, Michael was doing nothing to help the situation.
+ I wish that when Max found Liz/Isobel he and Isobel had hugged too. I did like their scene later in the episode where he opens up to her and they have a moment.
+ "10 points to Hufflepuff." LOL. Yeah, considering his unwavering loyalty to his family Hufflepuff seems the right place for Max.
+ I loved Rosa continuing to protect her little sister from their mom. I quite liked that scene between Rosa and Helena.
+ I loved Kyle yelling at Liz for her unethical behaviour and then hugging and thanking her for it.
+ I was surprised that Liz didn't have a goodbye dinner/party. She's moving to California and yet we don't see anyone say goodbye to her? I'm sure it happened off-screen but it really feels like something we should have seen.
+ Tripp and Nora feeling a 'cosmic connection' is a thing. So Tripp/Nora, Liz/Max, Michael/Alex (?), Noah/Rosa (?) - are they doing the alien/human soulmates thing?
+ I guess after 'Mr. Jones' found Nora at the fair somehow she (and Louise) managed to trap him in a pod and hide him away in that cave? Even though they'd been running scared from him for a year.
+ It's too bad that Jesse died not knowing the truth about Tripp. I wonder if things could have been different if he'd known that his father had killed his favourite uncle and why?
+ The cover up of Jesse's death is just weird. 1) He died at a carnival, there were people there! Yes they were mostly running away in panic but someone had to have seen something. 2) Gregory killed his father and he either helped or accepted the cover up? 3) Sheriff Valenti not investigating this feels weird considering their history. It's all just very strange.
+ So does each of the symbols corresponds to one of the pod squad - Max is the two circles, Isobel the crescent and Michael the quartered - or does it not matter which they touched?
