The 100 7x07 Thoughts

+ Emori was excellent. I love how motivated and into playing Kaylee she is. She is in her element and it’s great. I don't think Murphy was wrong about her enjoying playing the role but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. She was an outcast for most of her life and now she's respected and beloved, it would be hard not to enjoy that change. Plus she genuinely want to help people and is trying to do that the best way she knows.
+ I get where Emori is coming from with the reunions but she was very blinded by her own past to see the super obvious potential pitfalls in reuniting grown children with the parents who left them to die in a forest. Who likely believed they deserved to die for being Null. I loved her organising this lovely gathering but it definitely feels like it should have all happened in private individual reunions.
+ I loved Emori’s expression in the background as Nelson was reuniting with his mother. I loved the way this episode explored a little Emori’s feelings about her family’s abandonment.
+ "Besides, you’ve worshipped me for years." – Emori Cute. Their relationship is so great.
+ I loved Murphy’s “pound of flesh” made Emori go ‘refreshments!’, lol.
+ Oh, Clarke. I'm glad that we got both Miller and Raven reactions too. I loved that Raven immediately looked at Clarke.
+ I enjoyed the Murphy/Sheidheda chess match.
+ I'm appreciating how well the show is doing in making Sheidheda feel both dangerous and smart, and like a real threat to Earthkru. (A nice change from last season.) JR Bourne is rocking this role.
+ The Jackson/Madi scene was really lovely. It was nice to see him trying to help her and being there for her, and giving her support and encouragement. To see her opening up and getting validation, and then running off to have fun and be a kid.
+ I didn't realise Jackson was also trained as a therapist, lol. But frankly that's the most needed profession on this show and I would be down for an episode of just him helping everyone talk through their issues. There could be single and pair sessions and then end on a big group session. It would do everyone a world of good.
+ I loved how this episode addressed various characters bad actions in previous episodes - Echo stabbing Octavia, Octavia beating Bellamy, Bellamy convincing Madi she had to take the Flame.
- It was really nice to hear Octavia say that she wished she could "take that moment back" about beating Bellamy.
- "That’s what Bellamy told you. But that doesn’t make it right, even if it was true." Thank you!
+ The Hope/Diyoza scenes followed a predictable path but were very well done. Hope's break-down was so sad.
+ I loved that little look we got into Diyoza's own changes from her time on Sky Ring. I loved her expressing regret over her past actions and declaring that "doing the right thing the wrong way isn't doing the right thing". That was really interesting considering basically the show as a whole. She also said: "Revenge is a game no one wins." which again applies to so much of this show, and could potentially apply to coming episodes (nooo!) I'm really curious if either is going anywhere.
+ Octavia comforting Echo was a really nice scene. I loved her empathy, and the hug and her assuring Echo that she wasn't at fault. The character growth is great. That said her telling Echo "we're family" felt like a step too far. It needed a little more build-up then shared grief over Bellamy. Yes, Octavia has changed but she's also the person who apparently still had a grudge for the ten years she was on Sky Ring (going by what Hope said.) I'm glad that Octavia has forgiven Echo, that's great! But she can do that without going that one step further, you know? It didn't work for me.
+ We should have seen Octavia grieving more. Bellamy's death was made mainly about Echo which felt like a weird choice. Both of them can be wild with grief at the same time.
+ Cadogan is pretty interesting in his two minutes of screen-time. His "You again" to Anders came off very long-suffering, like 'oh it's you'. Then his casual "Please, call me Bill" again feeling kind of like he wants to sigh, like he's told Anders this before. It's not what I was expecting from him.
+ Poor Nelson. That was rough.
+ I was happy to finally get a Spacekru flashback but it feels a little weird to get Bellamy/Echo backstory now instead of season 5 like we should have. It was interesting how similar this talk between them felt to their final talk on the Ring before returning to Earth.
+ Hope calling Dev her father made me so sad for her.
+ Wait, how does Murphy know chess? Did we know this about him? I'm going to assume someone on the Arc was into it and forced everyone else to play.
+ Hope and Echo not asking Anders about Gabriel when they met up to accept joining the Disciples felt off to me. Sure, he shot and turned them in but they still had those five years together. They should care that he's not there. Even if they already assume he joined up with the Disciples.
+ We didn't see Orlando's face when he was sent to Nakara so there's a 100% chance it wasn't him. Actually that was probably the body Clarke and the others found.
