• Their second kiss was much better than their first (what with not being forced and Hye Ri kissing back) and was everything I wanted.

• I loved the final scene! Hye Ri was so amazing and brave. Her confidence, her refusal to allow In Woo to retreat...

“You were the one I thought of when I was having the most difficult time. When I couldn’t say anything to anyone, but had to keep it to myself. When I felt like I was going to die, because it was so hard for me, I wanted to tell you. I had to tell you. You disappeared. The one person, who I came to trust the most in the world, suddenly disappeared. ... The person who put me through hell and back… I love you, you bastard. ... If it hurts, I’m going to be hurt anyway, don’t say that everything was fake, okay? Say you’re sorry, tell me you’re sorry.”

I really wasn’t expecting her to confess her love to him. Oh, Hye Ri. Things moved so fast in this episode.

• I loved In Woo’s hidden message in Hye Ri’s alarm clock especially his repeated “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” at the end. It was exactly what Hye Ri needed.

• This episode made me feel very sorry and very sad for In Woo. His flashbacks to his father’s arrest and death and his mother’s death made me teary-eyed. I can completely understand why he is so obsessed with getting justice for his father, with finally fulfilling his promise to him. But at the same time it just does not excuse him using Hye Ri. He tells her it isn’t about revenge but the fact that he picked her, that he basically groomed and trained her into being a competent and dogged prosecutor, and became so important in her life says otherwise. If he only wanted justice he could have approached any prosecutor. So even while I feel sad for him – both for his past and his current hurt – I’m also angry at the way he’s used and hurt Hye Ri (even if he’s hurt himself just as much in the process).

• I really wanted her to tell him to go to hell when he asked for her car keys. But I guess she was still stuck in ‘shock’ and hadn’t yet fully hit anger. I loved her going over to his place later just to slap him but even with that I wanted more.

• It was an interesting choice to have Hye Ri barefoot when she slapped In Woo. It makes me immediately think of one of their confrontations in the previous episode where he tries to shut his door and she stops him with her high-heeled foot. Also of the short scene in this episode where she goes walking at night in flats and he follows behind her. There’s always been an emphasis on shoes in this show – what with Hye Ri’s love of them – but they’re really sticking out to me lately. They seem to be used as a reflection of her state of mind.

• I was amused during the prosecutors meeting. That it was suggested that they call her parents because she was missing work (hee) and then the chief’s ‘nooo then she’ll get in trouble reaction’ (lol). It was a some much needed lightness to a angst heavy episode.

• I was also amused by Jung Sun’s mother’s blatant attempt to push her daughter and Se Joon’s relationship into some sort of forward motion. Jung Sun’s “stop, stop” was pretty adorable.

• I love that Ae Ja is no longer afraid of the possibility of Sang Tae and how that has made her so much more confidant when dealing with him. I love her not backing down.

• I love that when Sang Tae tried to order and scare his daughter into moving back home and quitting her job she shut him down. “Don’t try to scare me. I’m not the Ma Hye Ri that obeys all of her father’s commands due to fear.” Awesome.

• During her phone call with In Woo it seemed that Jeni was sad about the situation and worried not only for In Woo but also for Hye Ri (her “are you having a hard time? Her too?”) But then there was her confrontation with Hye Ri at the store where she is unapologetic and even harsh. Her “You took everything away from In Woo” makes no sense because clearly Hye Ri had nothing to do with what happened back then. Unless Jeni meant something more like – Hye Ri had money and a good life because of In Woo’s loss? But that’s still not Hye Ri’s fault. Regardless of what her father may or may not have done Hye Ri completely innocent, in many ways, and was certainly the victim of In Woo’s plan.

I am very curious about why Jeni approached Hye Ri. With another character I might think ‘coincidence’ but since it’s Jeni I think it’s far more likely that she sought Hye Ri out. During their conversation she tells Hye Ri to look at the situation from In Woo’s eye and I wonder if that was her real purpose? If she’s trying to help In Woo by speaking up for him with Hye Ri?
