Goong / Princess Hours Episode 18 Thoughts
Aug. 2nd, 2020 06:03 pm+ The misunderstandings this episode could have been so easily overcome if they just talked to each other. Sigh.
+ "I have something just as important as my dream. If I go, I'll be taking someone with me." See this is the sort of thing he needs to say to Chae-kyung! That was really romantic.
+ "I just wanted to say thank you for being in my life. For being my sunshine." So sweet. Oh, Yul. See he's good at saying the right things. When he isn't trying to manipulate her. I hope him bringing up that her being in pain causes him pain again means he'll be keeping this in mind going forward.
+ I appreciate that Yul's kiss was to her forehead instead of trying to kiss her on the mouth but let's be honest that was his birthday gift to himself.
+ I love that the picture the Queen Mother chose to frame had Chae-kyung being very much herself doing two peace signs in a sea of posed royalty.
+ I felt really bad for the Queen. Her using the world 'endured' about being married to the king was rather yikes. I definitely think they were an arranged marriage and I feel sad for her that he never loved her. I did love her using that to leverage the king's support for Shin.
+ So did the king and Hwa-young have an affair 14 years ago before the former crown prince's death or was that dream/flashback of them perhaps being first loves before Hwa-young's marriage to his brother? Or both I suppose.
+ I liked the Queen and Hwa-young's shared look when the Queen Mother brought up Chae-kyung and Yul's closeness. It felt like for a moment they were actually in accord! So I guess the Queen does in fact realise what is happening between the three of them.
+ I loved that Chae-kyung's dad took the job so he could see her more.
+ Chae-kyung's mother ranting for 30 minutes over the palace ladies not being allowed to marry amused me. I rather love that the Queen and Queen Mother let her do that, considered what she said seriously and seemed amused by it all.
