The Haunting of Villa Diodati

I really enjoyed that.

+ "Cos sometimes this team structure isn't flat. It's mountainous, with me at the summit in the stratosphere, alone, left to choose. ...Sometimes, even I can't win." LOVED it. Such a great scene. Her then forcing Percy to face his death to push the Cyberium out and the subsequent scene of her facing the choice of giving it to the Cyberman or not was also really good.

+ "Changed into empty soulless shells, no feeling, no control, no way back. I will not lose anyone else to that!" I love more than I can say that the Doctor's Bill trauma is so present in this episode. I love when past Companions are acknowledged/mentioned. I wish Bill would return so the Doctor could know she's alright. Also I'd just love to have Bill travel with Thirteen.

+ The emotional, half-completed Cyberman was pretty unsettling and it definitely added to the general eeriness of the episode.

+ In general I liked how atmospheric and creepy the episode was. I loved the whole haunted house situation and how the perception filter upped the creepiness.

+ "Darkness had no need of aid from them. She was the universe." I loved this line over the Doctor's face. Chills. I'll have to read the poem again after the finale.

+ I hope there are some further consequences to the Doctor absorbing the Cyberium. It seems slightly pointless for it to choose her, become a part of her body, only for her to immediately give it up and that's that. It'd be neat if it comes into play in the final episodes. Why did it choose the Doctor over the Cyberman? Could being a part of the Doctor have changed it somehow? Or could it have done something to her? Could it prove to be essential in actually defeating the Cyberman's plot?

+ "She's the most baffling creature I've ever been acquainted with." I loved Byron's crush on the Doctor. I love that he sees her licking bone dust and is enthralled. His failboat attempts to win her over all episode were great.

+ I'm a little disappointed that no one broke the "no snogging Lord Byron" rule. Jack would have.

+ "This enigmatic person of yours - would you trade them for reliable and dull?" I doubt it as Yaz has always been the Doctor's most ardent supporter and the one who seems to love the life the most. (Also I wouldn't be shocked if they made her crush on the Doctor canon.) But also I find myself wondering how the events of this episode are going to affect 'the fam'. The Doctor has tried so hard to act as if they are a team of equals and yet... and now with what happened here, I'm actually wondering if we're going to see a breakup of the fam. Ryan at least, based on the last episode, seems to have one foot out of the door already. This exchange made me wonder about Yaz and if she could ever get to that point.

+ I always love the Doctor being nonchalant and irreverent even when she's actually internally freaking out so her initial scene with the Cyberman was great.

"Your vital signs betray a heightened sense of anxiety."
"Or as I like to call it 'Tuesday'!"

+ I wish there'd been more about Mary as a writer but I liked her confrontation with the Cyberman a lot.

+ I feel like there have been ghosts on the show before but I can't remember. I love that Graham got the potentially real ghosts - and all they did was feed him, ha. I wonder if they're going to come up again or if it's just there to be a small mystery?

+ Ryan getting challenged to a duel and his reaction was fun. I loved Graham forbidding him.

+ "Fix the mess I created in step 1." LOL. Well, that is a very Doctor-ish plan!

+ Polidori wondering if it was too late to choose the group not going into the cellars made me lol. I can't blame him.

+ I loved the valet's proud little smile when the Doctor told him 'good shot'.
