Doctor Who 12x09 Thoughts

+ I didn't like the Doctor showing up to save the day, full of tech, only to literally no affect and to fail immediately. The Doctor has definitely failed before or miscalculated but something about how it was presented here rubbed me wrong.
+ I loved the Doctor's little monologue rant while fixing the ship warp drive: "Basically I used to do this a lot and people got mad but now it's going to save all our lives so who was right all along and is now the real winner." Hee.
But then they immediately undercut it by having Ethan push her aside and do it in a faster way and I found myself annoyed again. Like the Doctor loves finding clever people (and she was impressed here) but having this after the previous failure rubbed me the wrong way again.
+ I really hope that the reveal at the end doesn't mean that Gallifreyans are actually the last vestiges of humanity after the Cyberman war. I do not want a Time Lords were humans all along reveal.
+ I thought at first that the Brendan side story was showing us Ashad's past but now I'm not sure. Considering the whole "timeless child" situation and what happens with Brendan (surviving the fall, the unaging father/mentor, the torture/memory wipe) it seems he's probably connected to that instead. Is he the Timeless Child? Or both. The clock Brendan had at the end seemed important - could Brendan be a Time Lord made human with the Chameleon Arch and then he becomes Ashas - and that's why the he was rejected from being fully cybernised? Or could this be a The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas situation?
+ This season has done really well with creating tension and has upped the creepiness/scariness factor.
+ I find myself genuinely worried about Graham and Yaz. Would they really cybernize one of the Companions? I don't want them to die. But their situation is so dire and they keep being so positive if worried, and it is the finale. It's rather nail-biting.
+ I loved how worried the Doctor was when she sent them away, more of her Bill trauma, and if they are cybernised it's going to make it so much worse for her.
+ I loved seeing the Master at the end even if for 30 seconds.
