Good
+ Neither Murphy nor Raven died! I was pretty sure one of them would bite it and it made the episode super tense for me. But they both lived and it was great.
+ The most tense sequence was Raven alone in the reactor and her confrontation with Nikki. Honestly maybe one of the most tense of the show. I immediately found myself wondering why Raven was in there alone and then when the pipe started leaking I was all 'no, no, no' and I honestly thought she was going to die. I that Nikki was going to lock her in the die as Hatch did. At least up until Raven gave Nikki permission to kill her if it'd bring her peace and you see the change in Nikki's expression and suddenly I could breath again. Raven facing her fears, how emotional the confrontation was, the tension, even Nikki as a character all really worked for me. Honestly Nikki's left me neutral to meh unfortunately but she, and her love/grief for Hatch, really worked for me in this scene. I liked how it all played out.
+ I loved Murphy/Clarke/Emori's expressions when they saw Nikki stroll out of the reactor and the way they immediately ran for Raven in fear. I freaking adored the way the way they surrounded her, with Clarke and Emori wrapped around her and all three of them grasping her hand, offering their support and enveloping her in the love and relief. Beautiful little scene. Favourite of the episode.
+ Raven/Murphy were delightful all episode. Every second of them was great. I loved that she was the first to call his name and rush to his side at the beginning, I loved their campfire gossip dish and agreement on their 'wtf' at Bellamy and Murphy running to Raven after Nikki left the reactor.
Raven: So Shiedheda's alive and Madi's in a nuclear reactor. You did good.
Murphy: All of our friends are missing and Bellamy is a sheep. So did you.
♥ Very fun exchange. I love them. Also this felt like a moment, without the context, that could have come from season 5. I love them gently ribbing each other.
+ All the reunion hugs after they got into the reactor were wonderful - Murphy/Emori, Clarke/Madi (I love their hugs so much), Emori/Raven (awww!), then later Emori/Bellamy (she loves him so much). It was great.
+ JOSIE! Oh, I've missed her. It was so great to see her again, causing mayhem and being so much fun to watch. How appropriate for her to be the tempting devil on Gabriel's shoulder. Also: "Oh for Prime's sake!" Hee.
+ Emori reacting to Wonkru trying to break down the door while at the same time Nikki takes a hostage by turning off the power was great. Letting in the bugs could have been really bad for a lot of people but is the kind of ruthlessness that I love.
+ Indra freeing herself and taking out the Disciples was excellent. Shiedheda saving her and the subsequent scene between them had such heavy parallels with Octavia/Pike that I liked too.
+ Minus the final scene Bellamy remained very subdued in his manner but I like that he continued in his quest to try and protect his friends. I liked his little exchange with Murphy and him reassuring him that "I am your friend and I'm looking out for you". I liked that he backed-up Clarke and kept reassuring Cadogan that she'd get it done.
+ "But unfortunately I have neither the time nor patience to suffer your primitive tribalism." - Cadogan. LOL! That was hilarious. Sheidheda's expression, everything about how Cadogan approached/how he said it - heh. It wasn't what I was expecting from them meeting but it worked for me.
+ I kind of love that Earthkru, aka all of the our characters, just up and decided to abandon Sanctum. No one staying behind this time or any discussion. Just leaving behind the Sanctumites, Wonkru, Eligius prisoners plus some random Bardoans to figure stuff out by themselves.
+ Aw, I rather liked Gabriel knowing it was the wrong choice but not taking the antidote because he wasn't ready to lose Josephine again. I loved that him trying to quietly talk/quiet her and his amusement at her 'broken eggs to make this omelette' crack.
+ I was sad that we didn't get more of Clarke interacting with the others (esp. Murphy) but there were a lot of little moments I loved - Clarke immediately following Raven to Murphy's side, Murphy quickly reassuring Clarke that Madi was alright, the too short catch-up between the Murphy/Raven/Clarke, Murphy turning to looking at Clarke when they all saw Nikki. They were small things but nice.
+ I rather loved the unplanned team-work of Gabriel turning the gun on Cadogan to stop him, Clarke shooting Doucette to protect Gabriel and take control of the room, and how immediately Indra had her gun up providing back-up/support for her.
+ Jeremiah's continued complete belief in Murphy and that he would think of something to save them was really sweet.
+ I loved Clarke's disgusted "Oh, for god's sake" at Cadogan's nonsense and Raven's in total agreement expression. In general Clarke's complete no give a fucks with Cadogan is great.
+ It would have been nice for anyone to show some worry about Clarke surviving/making it back but at the same time I kind of love that no one considers that wouldn't make it back. She's Clarke, no need to worry.
Other
+ All our main characters just immediately walking through the Anomaly made me go no wait stop! That was so dumb! One, they don't actually know where Cadogan is sending them so why are they trusting him enough to go first? Two, why are they not wearing helmets? Raven had a helmet and was wearing moments before! They know about the possibility of memory erasure. Holy crap. Three, there are a bunch of Disciples, dead and alive, around so they have a bunch of helmet options, certainly enough for everyone. Also taking the helmets + Cadogan would presumably prevent the remaining Disciples (incl. Bellamy) from following or sending immediate reinforcements after them which is a good thing.
+ Oh god, I had a thought with Bellamy's death. What if it's revealed that this all (perhaps just this season but maybe the whole show) was 'the test' that's through the white portal and it's Clarke who's taking it? Eh, I'm not a huge fan of that idea.
+ Indra choosing to let Sheidheda live made me facepalm hard. It's in character I suppose considering her choosing not to kill him personally in 7x09 but as with then it doesn't make any sense! I just can't buy her making this choice. This time feels both dumber and less dumb then that previous choice. Less dumb in that I buy the choice slightly more - she's not killing him because he saved his life but mostly is not killing him to let him slowly die from his wound. But it's vastly more dumb because the last time she didn't kill him things went to shit and her not learning from that and killing his immediately is just - ugh.
+ "No offence but if our lives really depend on Murphy we're screwed" - Madi. Aww that seems a little unfair! I mean he'd say it himself but it's not actually true. Still it was a cute moment between Emori/Madi and I liked Emori's amused smile/little laugh in response.
+ Why wouldn't Clarke but especially Murphy as the first in after the door was exploded not call out to Emori? He almost got shot by Emori and it would have been his own fault! Holy god, that scene made me anxious.
+ Jackson saying nothing about Gabriel's very obvious red sun toxin poisoning to the others was deeply weird. You can't even say he doesn't understand because he's lived through it. I'm going to have to assume they chatted about it off-screen and Gabriel was all 'I have a plan' and Jackson for some reason decided to trust him.
+ I like that the red sun has a sense of dramatic timing but overall this ended up being a lot less impressive than our first go around. None of them even tried to kill each other because of it! Only one person got hallucinations of a past important character, boo! (Okay Indra hallucinated too, fine. I wanted more.)
+ I love Indra, I really do, but the way she keeps NOT being killed by people with all the reason to kill her is starting to feel plot-armoury. Okay, she wasn't killed at the beginning because she wasn't armed, sure, I buy it. But why wasn't she killed at the end when she turned her gun on Cadogan? Why did they let her keep her gun?
+ I'm smacking my head for somehow forgetting that the Bardoan's have invisible armour. DUH. Of course Cadogan wouldn't go there with only two followers, he's not an idiot. (But now I feel like one. Yeesh.)
+ That machine definitely got some stuff from the Flame before Gabriel destroyed it so I imagine that, combined with Madi's book of drawings, is going to come into play later. The Flame is finally completely dead but it does make me wonder again what did happen to Russell/Shiedheda's Mind Drive that Jackson removed and which could potentially have more than just Shiedheda on it but also all the other Commanders too. Is that still floating around?
+ This is so minor but I'm kind of annoyed that we have three kids in Madi's orbit and all of them are boys. Give her a girl friend show.
+ It would have been neat if we'd had a second of Cadogan recognising the Flame's case as having been Callie's. Even something as simple as running a finger down it before taking out the Flame would have been great.
+ Cadogan is such a hypocrite I don't know how anyone takes him seriously. His snarky/moralising little aside about 'another lesson on the destructiveness of familial love' is like, ah yes still nursing that grudge and hurt emotions/pride against Grace for helping Callie escape with the Flame, huh? Very in line with your teachings there, Bill!
