Lucifer 5x08 Thoughts

+ Oh, Maze. I guess I should just accept that she's going to betray Lucifer, at this point it seems to be a pretty consistent character trait. Sigh. Though I don't know I can blame her this time. Lucifer being a terrible and inconsiderate friend towards Maze has also become established. Maybe because she's always been his loyal second that he never had consider as her own person but Lucifer has been such an oblivious asshole to her this season that her attacking him felt rather satisfying.
+ I liked watching Lucifer and Amenadiel fighting together.
+ The interrogation scene between Ella and Pete was really well done. Poor Ella. It was a great scene for her. I loved that she saved herself from Pete whereas I was expecting Lucifer to swoop in to save her. That said while I like the idea of Ella choosing a nice guy only to discover he's the worst yet there have been so few episodes that it's felt very rushed. I never ended up feeling much about Ella/Pete, it was obvious early in the episode that Pete was the killer and him giving her a key in light of that makes no sense.
+ I loved how impressed Ella was by Lucifer's detective work. It was fun having them working together.
+ I appreciate that the person Michael threw the knife at and that Lucifer saved was a random person instead of someone Lucifer cares about.
+ I'm disappointed with what the show did with Dan this episode. I'm glad that he pulled it together once he learned about Chloe's disappearance but how his reactions were played this episode left me meh.
+ Lucifer reacting to Dan shooting him by becoming obsessed with finding the right prank to get him back amused me.
