• The second season premiere made me dislike George quite a bit. In fact after the episode I kind of didn’t feel like watching more.
• I did love that we get another female character that got to interact with Annie, and I thought their growing friendship was nice. That episode actually passed the Bechdel Test too.
• By the third episode I did like George more but the overall feeling of meh remained.
• I don’t also don’t like how gender is dealt with on the show. Did they seriously need to have Saul assault Annie twice? Did they really need to go there again with her? No, they didn’t. Why does every female characters plot have to revolve around a male character? Even main character Annie has all this interesting stuff as far as her being a ghost and instead of dealing with that they have her decide she has to set up her boss? What?
• I’ve found that I’m having a hard time buying the vampires in this universe though Mitchell’s downslide into being vampire king is somewhat interesting. I just sometimes have a hard time buying him as an old and scary vampire.
• I’m also having the same problems with the relationships on this show that I have with True Blood. Because of the show’s compressed timeline having people – like say George and Nina – fall completely in love in a month or two doesn’t entirely work. Possibly more time passed, okay. But their relationship happened over a fairly short period of time and I guess I just don’t believe in love at first sight so much anymore.
