iariaWhat a weird little show. I kind of like it.
+ The casual irreverent way the show deals with death is great. It worked for me. I liked how Ian's death played out.
+ I loved the showdown between Kim and Jimmy. Them sassing each other, them admiring each other and weirdly connecting. Kim being all offended at how rude it was of Jimmy to throw a knife in her back. Jimmy actually listening to her demand that he not throw another knife at her or shoot her and instead him tackling her over the railing (wth, dude?!) amused me. Why didn't he just push her? That said the fight itself was a bit long.
+ Kim is rather weird and naive and I liked her.
+ I am so confused about Tina and everything about how she chose to raise Kim. Her immediately running when her husband was killed, fine. Makes sense especially if he was caught up in shady shit. (And if she was involved too.) Lying to Kim about the dangers of the outside world to keep her close, okay. But telling/letting her believe that the revenge for Mr. Noakes death is Kim's? Why is it Kim's over Tina's? Why did she teach her weapons and combat and basically train her like a soldier/assassin? Also you'd think she'd have taught Kim better about trusting people/situations.
+ I feel like there is definitely more to Tina's story than we've been told. She knew Brooks a little too well, had to have the skills in order to teach Kim in the first place and is way too casual about murder.
+ I don't remember the exact words but Tina being all 'what do I always say? make sure you wear gloves and a gun, if you're going to have fun. It rhymes for fucks sake!' made me laugh. She was so exasperated.
+ I like Nicky. He's sweet. He also allowed his brother to push him into letting Kim think it was the end of the world. He then invaded her privacy and read her diary (and also in the process stopped doing the critical job of being lookout.) Those are both shitty things but especially the second. Especially in light of her being lied to her whole life by her mom and him knowing both that and how weirdly innocent and naive she is. Dude.
+ Jay is a doofus but I like his relationship with his brother.
