I Waited For You

I like that even as we see Yeon affected by Ji Ah's likeness to Ah Eum (her laugh) it's her personality that is getting to him. Her determination and confidence and recklessness. That moment between them at the restaurant when he told her he understood what she was feeling was a nice moment of him seeing her for herself.

Ji Ah telling Yeon that she heard that his kind specialized at digging tunnels and then seconds later him ducking under her leg with a "I'm specialized at digging tunnels" made me laugh.

I liked the scene with the bulgasari and Yeon confronting Ji Ah with how helpless she is when in his world.

I loved Yeon saying that he didn't care if Ah Eum reincarnated as a man or ugly, he only wanted her not to reincarnate as old because he couldn't stand to lose her so soon after her found her again.

It seems a little late in the game for Yeon to be asking if Ah Eum will reincarnate looking the same. After 600 years searching for her you'd think that line of thinking would have come up sooner.

Shin-joo declaring that he won't risk his life for love but will protect Yeon instead makes me wonder if that's foreshadowing of him risking his life to protect Yeon. He is very devoted to Yeon and as Hye Ja said that's love too.

Rang was genuinely affected when Yeon (finally) admitted that he abandoned him and he's clearly in a lot of pain and wants his brother to see that and acknowledge it. But then of course Yeon had to poke at him instead of being sincere. He really doesn't take Rang and his anger or pain seriously. It's like he thinks Rang is simply being a tantruming child.

I rather like how utterly cavalier and unmoved Yeon is about death because it makes him feel inhuman. He's the 'good guy' but he doesn't really seem to care any more than his 'bad guy' brother about killing people.

It seemed strange to me that Ji Ah reacted to the fisherman attacking her with the hammer by flinching and covering her head instead of doing something more active to fight back - kick at his legs or roll away, or something. Acting helpless in the face of death doesn't seem very in character.

The way the old people looked at Yeon, and I think they were specifically looking at him, was kind of creepy. I really thought they recognised who he was and there was something more going on there.
