Being Human 2x07 & 2x08 Thoughts

I was mainly neutral/eh about the first season and for most of the second season. In fact until these last couple episodes of season two I wasn’t actually planning on watching the third season. But then, for the most part, I really enjoyed 2x06 and these last two episodes, especially the finale, were really good.
They were pretty dark but I enjoyed them and for the first time in watching this show I was completely involved. TPTB are certainly not afraid to have the characters do horrible things. It’s interesting. They let the characters make terrible decisions, and make huge mistakes that have actual consequences that are just as huge. They let the characters do horrible things. I couldn’t believe they actually had Mitchell go on his killing spree. He killed over twenty people (the bus + the couple at the facility, the coroner) in a couple days. Innocent people who weren’t trying to hurt him, and most of them who weren’t any threat at all to him. It was just him lashing out in rage and pain at innocent people. It was an interesting choice on the part of the show.
• The best part of the episodes was the Mitchell/Annie/George OT3ness which was more blatant than ever before I think. I loved it. I love how much the three of them love each other so much. It’s hard to even pick out moments (like say the one in 2x05) because pretty much the entirety of 2x08 and a large part of 2x07 in which they had scenes together or were about them was all about how much they love and need each other.
- I loved George’s reactions to Annie planning on crossing over and his talk with her and then to her being lost through the doorway.
- I loved Mitchell completely losing it when he learned Annie was gone. “We lost her.”
- I loved Annie’s worry and fear for Mitchell.
- I liked George’s line about how bad plumbing would always make him think of Annie.
- I loved George’s love of Mitchell – how he couldn’t bear to lose him too and this: “I can’t be your confessor. Not now. I need you too much.”
- I love that Mitchell’s response to Annie’s fear at the end was to declare “We’re going to get her back.” which makes me excited to see where the show goes with that next season.
• I was so afraid that they were going to kill off Nina and am so glad that she survived. I hope that she’s a main character next season because otherwise I’m afraid that they will be killing her off. At this point she has very much become a part of the group and I like it. I loved her determination to get revenge for Annie. I want many more scenes between them.
• I like Nina/George.
• Mitchell’s kitchen conversation with Annie in 2x07 was... interesting. Was that him just being lost/vampirey or was he trying to scare her off? More importantly did he mean what he said? Has he thought of her as a woman, and wanted her as a woman?
• I did have some issues:
- I don’t understand why Annie turned to Kemp in the first place for help in moving on. I mean her entire storyline this season has been her trying to avoid the doors and moving on. Now that she wants to move on I would think all she would need to do is wait and then go through. I mean isn’t the whole point that it’ll always be coming for her?
- I can’t believe that Annie just stood there as Hennessey was pulled into the doorway, even though her was pleading for her help and had become her friend. I understand shock and being afraid but I didn’t like her just standing there, watching.
- Tully leaving the note in the holding room for George was certainly convenient.
- What the hell happened to Daisy? We see her making out with Mitchell covered in the blood of the twenty people they killed and then nothing until we see her bringing back Herrick with Cara at the end so what the hell happened in between? Why wasn’t she with him on his attack on Kemp’s facility? That doesn’t make sense to me.
- Speaking of the end – I don’t know that I buy vampires being able to be brought back from death, even death where all that’s left are bones and pieces of flesh, so easily. If it was so easy, only the blood of two vampires, then why wouldn’t more vampires do it? Why the hell didn’t Daisy immediately track down Ivan’s remains? Perhaps it isn’t well known or it’s Cara, being a newbie, doing something thought ridiculous or impossible and succeeding? That has to be it because I can’t imagine if it was a well known thing that we wouldn’t have heard about it before. Now that it’s out there it does change things. I mean if Mitchell is killed does this mean that Annie, George and Nina can bring him back? Also if Daisy doesn’t try to bring Ivan next season I will be irritated.
