The Four Pillars of Destiny
+ Ji Ah was far too quick in giving up the fox bead and far too cavalier later about her trade. How the fortune teller reacted both to the discovery of the bead and to her agreeing to give it up should have made her immediately wary. It was foolish of her, and felt a little our of character, not to have read the fortune teller's reaction better. I guess this is the negative side of her confidence - over-confidence in how she sees the world (no such thing as fate) that it makes her act without true consideration or understanding.
+ Curious about the connection between Ji Ah and Imugi. If it, or a part of it, was still possessing Ah Eum when she died, then when Yeon stopped her trip to the afterlife and gave her the fox bead to ensure her reincarnation, could Ah Eum's soul and that piece of the Imugi become one? The fox bead, given before she'd reached the after-life and while still entangled with Imugi, prevented the two separate souls from separating. So when she was reincarnated they were reincarnated as Ji Ah as one being? ... like a horcrux sort of deal.
The fox bead has mostly kept the Imugi side down but with it's disappearance the Imugi part of her can now take over Ji Ah. It clearly wasn't completely dormant if it lured Ji Ah's mother to the island while she as still in the womb. This would work well too with it being Ji Ah's blood (and only a little at that) that allowed the Imugi to finally come back to life/take a new body - because her special blood is also the living blood of the Imugi itself.
+ We know that the Imugi can bring things back to life so I excitedly await the episode when Yeon is killed and she has to bring him back.
+ Speaking of: why did the Imugi bring that bird back to life? Because he could, because he was trying out his powers, or because he's not straight up evil?
+ I liked that Ji Ah realised that Yeon was kissing Ah Eum not her and that she called him on it. I wonder if her dressing in hanbok was a test?
+ I loved Ji Ah's reply to being told her future road wouldn't be lined with flowers was that she would sprinkle flower seeds along her crappy road then.
+ I loved how incredulously offended Rang was that Yeon ignored his call. Heh.
+ This made me LOL:
Rang: I miss you, that's all.
Yeon: Ah. So there's a 99.9% chance you're up to something. I'm busy. Bye.
+ Rang being appalled and embarrassed at the fortune teller confirming that Yeon is "the most precious thing" to him was hilarious. His denial over whether Yeon was a valuable thing to him was both amusing and sad. Oh Rang. Of course he's still the most valuable thing. I hope the next time Rang does his 'I hate you' thing Yeon throws this in his face and teases him about it. He'll be incensed and it will be great.
+ Yeon grumbling over Ji Ah being enthused at meeting a god because he was a god too (a better and more important one!) was cute. So was his affronted grumbling over how dare the fortune teller take him, that young whippersnapper, not showing the proper respect for his elders. LOL.
+ I enjoyed the Magistrate and Yeon's interactions with him.
+ I rather loved Yoo Ri's complete lack of care over who exactly Eui Ong was. She isn't wrong that his rank shouldn't give him leave to be rude. (Though yelling at him was an overreaction on her part.)
+ Still liking Yoo Ri/Shin Joo and still thinking they actually fit really well together. I loved him calmly telling her that even if she dislikes him he's sure she'll like the soup.
+ I was surprised that Yeon just dropped the subject of what Ji Ah gave up in trade for him, apparently content with her assurance that she got him cheap. Dude. Also even if he had a reason (the shoes) why would he just walk into what was clearly a trap by Rang? Since I'm at it I also found it weird that Yeon didn't know that the fortune teller wasn't human. I wonder if all this is on purpose, like Yeon is so wrapped up in Ji Ah that he's missing very obvious things?
+ I feel like Ji Ah did already give up a precious thing - the chance to find her parents - by choosing Yeon instead.
