The Trap of the Cycle of Death and Rebirth
+ It's deeply frustrating that Yeon is purposefully keep Ji Ah in the dark about things that she deserves to know. The truth about why the fox bead was important and her connection to Imugi are definitely among them. He knows she has enemies out there and keeping her ignorant isn't in any way going to help her. Hell, that's partially why she lost her fox bead - if she'd known how important it was in protecting her she might not have traded it away!
Also it's strange to me that she isn't showing more curiosity about what the fox bead was and what the consequences of trading it could be. That seems out of character. She seems surprisingly lacking in curiosity about the supernatural stuff happening around her and to her.
The reveal at the end looks bad but at the same time this is the guy who a) traded away his godhood to make sure she was reincarnated and b) waited hundreds of years for her. It being because of a combination of love and guilt makes sense but I'm pretty sure there is a lot more to this story than Yeon using her as bait against Imugi. What I'm sure is going to happen, and what I'm afraid of, is that he's not going to tell her the truth or defend himself and it's going to be very annoying. Be honest with her!
+ Yeon is just so cold and aloof towards Rang and it makes me sad. For Rang (he so desperately wants Yeon's love) but also Yeon, and very curious about why. I get why Yeon would be completely over Rang lashing out (after 600 years that seems fair) but at the same time it seems like he's never reached out to Rang or apologised to him in all that time. He inadvertently (?) abandoned Rang, then the next time he saw him he 'tried' to kill him and then, what, basically treated him as an annoying little brother pointlessly throwing tantrums he had no time for for the next 600 years? Yeesh. After their confrontation this episode what I really want is for Rang to get in over his head with the Imugi (you know it's coming) and for Yeon to rescue him and save his life and then actually open up to him for once.
+ The little boy being revealed to be the reincarnation of Rang's beloved puppy, Blacky, was amazing. I love it so much. I love that Rang became so emotional and then took him out for dessert even though he was disgusted that Blacky came back as a human. Is the little boy going to teach Rang how to open his heart again? Yes, please! Actually I wonder if the kid has been abandoned (which is why he runs around everywhere without supervision) and Rang will end up taking care of him?
+ Rang being abandoned by his mother like like that definitely adds another layer to his abandonment issues and feelings over Yeon's abandonment. I'm assuming that Yeon saved him from the zombie which would in turn make his devotion to his brother and the later betrayal even worse.
+ Yeon making rice so Ji Ah would come home to the smell was really sweet and I loved that Ji Ah in turn stopped to pick up his favourite ice cream to surprise him with.
+ "Even if I don't know anything else I know how to wait." Aw, Yeon.
+ Poor Shin Joo. I love that he used getting beat up and his heartbreak in an attempt to get Yeon to wait on him for once.
+ "I didn't really burn it. I just failed to control the heat." Heh. I'm going to use that as an excuse the next time I burn something.
+ Why when she put on the glasses did they seem to work so differently than anyone else? From what we saw of others use of the glasses they saw a vision of a person's past self, alive and moving but stationary, superimposed over their current self. So why did Ji Ah first see nothing different, then a vision of herself and then a series of moments at the end of Ah Eum's life? Did Rang mess with them somehow? The little boy saw her as a 'scary face', I'm assuming snake-like/scaled, so why didn't Ji Ah see that?
+ I'm interested in what exactly Imugi was planning to do to Ji Ah if she had opened the door. Can he reabsorb whatever part of him resides in Ji Ah? I feel like it can't be as easy as that. If they are strongly connected - could killing Ji Ah also kill Imugi (explaining Ah Eum's death)? Could Imugi influence Ji Ah's mind? I'm really interested in seeing them interact and what their dynamic will be like.
