Grey's Anatomy 17x07 Thoughts

+ When I saw Meredith standing on her beach during her opening monologue I suddenly realised that of course they were going to have DeLuca show up and I became sure that he was going to die. And yet I was still kind of surprised that they actually killed him off. Why now? That doesn't make sense to me.
+ Aww to Bailey sleeping beside Meredith.
+ I liked the Linc/Jackson/Winston scene. Linc freaking out about what it would mean for his life if Meredith died is super understandable. I loved Jackson reassuring Linc that it was okay to have multiple reasons to want Meredith to survive - including selfish ones. Also Jackson calling Meredith family was lovely.
+ The reasoning for why DeLuca followed Opal was good, and him wanting to do good is understandable, but that doesn't make it somehow not reckless as hell. It was really reckless. Especially once they reached the station and knew that she'd seen them. They should have backed off at that point.
+ I get that they wanted to show DeLuca happy in his final scene. That they have a glimpse into the afterlife so why not use it to make his death less sad, for him specifically. But I don't know that it really worked for me especially considering the circumstances. It bothers me that Meredith was so accepting instead of asking/telling him to fight or go back.
+ Usually I don't mind or I like the crossovers between the two series but I think they really messed up by putting the DeLuca/Carina subplot in the Station 19 episode. Especially since it ended in Deluca's death. It should have happened on Grey's. Crossover shouldn't make watching one show impossible to follow.
