The Echo of Lost Tears
+ Everything with Nancy and her two dads was great. Nancy asking Carson to go with Ryan to lay Celia to rest because "he needs a dad" was super sweet all around. I love that Ryan wanted to protect Carson and that Carson understood Ryan's unspoken reluctance to give his rights as a parent but that in the end Ryan signed the papers. I loved Carson inviting Ryan to stay with them, and them on the couch together and Carson at the end teaching Ryan how to wash dishes (lol). They are so great.
+ Ryan: "You're all I've got left." Aw, this made me sad for Ryan. I think it made Nancy and Carson sad for him too. Someone give him a hug! I want all the best things for him.
+ I liked the little Nancy/Ace moments. That it was Ace's reaction that is focused on when Gil pulls her away and Ace who came to her afterwards was great. I loved Ace holding her hand when she began the ritual to remove the Wraith and that it was Ace who was at her side and helping her up when she awoke from it. I loved how she couldn't look away from him. I continue to love his belief in her.
+ All the Odette/George(/Bess) stuff was lovely. I loved Odette coming out to play engaged and that it was about saving George from the situation. George thanking her at the end and Odette admitting that she had grown fond of George was great. Odette making the decision to lock herself away so that George could enjoy all the time she had left was a wonderful moment and I loved George writing the note for Bess giving them permission to kiss goodbye.
+ I like how this season has built up George and Bess's relationship. George opening up to Bess and Bess trying to comfort her was nice. George comforting Bess after Odette locked herself away was wonderful. I like how the Odette situation has made them closer.
+ I loved that it was George Nancy conjured up to protect her from being attacked (by herself). I liked Nick as a part of her feeling okay again after her mother's death and him comforting her. Them showing up in those positions were perfect.
+ "That's why it hurt so much when you chose George." Uh, did it? I don't remember the 'so much' part of that. In fact I thought Nancy took that reveal really well.
+ I liked Nancy embracing her traumas because they were a part of her, and that she's now hopefully on the road to recovery.
+ Nancy's trauma's she wasn't dealing with: tasing and taking Everett hostage/ choosing a dark morally compromising path (dark Nancy), the loss of her mother and how broken it left her (grieving Nancy), the lies about who she was/her birth (young detective Nancy) and her birth and everything that came from that (baby Nancy). The last seems a bit pointless since we already got that Nancy in a way with detective Nancy/the lies told/mystery of her past.
You know what a good final trauma she wasn't dealing with could have been: Owen's death and her guilt over it that she never really dealt with. And yet as per usual no mention of him because apparently he doesn't actually matter and his death had no further affect on her. Meh. (I really should figure out how to get over this annoyance. I didn't even like them that much!)
+ Nancy breaking up with Gil was great but at the same time I'm hitting the same issue I hit with Nancy 'changing'. Is Gil controlling and not a good person? Yeah. Does the Wraith occluding his more negative points make sense, absolutely. But at the same time making the relationship all the Wraith's doing leaves me going meh.
+ Ace's "show off" to Nick's drawing made me laugh.
+ I actually felt bad for the Wraith. Poor thing didn't ask to be created or abandoned as a newborn.
