Lucifer 5x12 & 5x13 Thoughts

+ I wanted Dan to get some help and to finally get a break and while this isn’t really what I meant I am glad that this worked for Dan. I think hearing Lucifer basically tell him he is a good guy (” I knew you’d never give up. Whenever you’re given a choice you would at least try and do the right thing.”) clearly gave him a sense a peace about who he is as a person. Or maybe seeing how chaotic and terrible life could be but isn’t gave him some perspective.
+ It all being a prank on Lucifer’s part to get back at Dan for shooting him honestly makes sense. I bought it entirely. Of course he’d spend over five million and put Dan through hell to get back at him. And it was pretty fun. But – I guess I remember there being a short time way back when Lucifer and Dan’s relationship seemed genuinely friendly on both sides. They still annoyed each other and made fun of each other but it was missing the edge to it. I’m I remembering this wrong? I haven’t rewatched so maybe I am. I was left disappointed a little with how it ended because I guess I wanted Lucifer to take some satisfaction or pleasure out of the fact that he helped Dan, even if not on purpose, and for them to have a moment of connection or understanding before returning to the status quo. Oh, well.
+ Lucifer’s ”Let’s stop projecting and start reflecting.” made me laugh.
+ I enjoyed Dan/Maze’s part in this especially at the end with her saying she would take a bullet for him.
+ I loved how they worked every character into Dan’s day. My favourite was Linda. Her enthusiastically hitting Dan as soon as he said to, her excited grin about him being undercover and then coming back to throw his drink in his face was adorable. Amenadiel’s resigned annoyance at being used as an uber and his desire to help Dan was great.
5x13 'A Little Harmless Stalking'
+ I loved the final Linda/Adriana scene. It was beautiful and touching. I love that Adriana figured out the truth and came to see Linda. I love how obviously moved she was by Linda's actions and the meeting with Charlie was really sweet.
+ Linda going off on Lucifer really worked for me. Honestly I feel like a lot of what she had to say was fair even if it turned out she was wrong in that instance. And I do love that she was wrong and Lucifer actually was thinking about her.
+ I love how much Lucifer loves and believes in Linda, and that he was there for her this episode.
+ As soon as God retiring came up I figured that Lucifer would end up in the roll but I was hoping it would be God unexpectedly choosing Lucifer much to his confusion and consternation. Lucifer deciding in his usual self-absorbed and arrogant way that he was going to become God feels like more of the same except maybe on a bigger scale. As a method to run from his emotions and relationship with Chloe, and as a method to prove himself to her, this is extreme even for him. Also I feel like his many thousands of angel siblings are collectively going to have something to say about this.
+ The Amenadiel/Ella scene was very lovely and his advice was perfect.
+ Amenadiel focus grouping being God was great.
+ I loved Amenadiel's expression when Lucifer took his complement in exactly the wrong direction.
+ It was nice to see Eve back and I'm pleased that, while they broke up at the end after getting back together, I'm left sure they will find their way back to each other.
+ Eve's excitement that she broke Maze's heart was cute.
